The translational nonequilibrium zone in a shock wave is considered for a gas consisting of light particles and a small addition of heavy particles. The gas is taken to be two-dimensional, and long-range forces are assumed to be absent. In the framework of this approximation, a program for molecular dynamics simulation of the gas is developed. It is applied to calculate a particle distribution function in the shock wave, to analyze the time evolution of the distribution function, and to study its dependence on the gas composition.  相似文献

Switchover from a runaway-electromnduced volume discharge to a spark is studied when a nanosecond discharge is initiated in high-pressure nitrogen an d air at a voltage of 50–250 kV. In the case of a cathode with a small radius of curvature and a flat anode and in the presence of cathode spots, the leader of the spark channel may propagate from the flat cathode. When the rate of rise of the voltage across centimeterwide gaps is high (dU/dt ∼ 1015 V/s or higher), cathode spots in the case of a corona discharge emerge within 200 ps.  相似文献

Some features of the ferroelectric behavior of triglycine sulphate crystals with a nonuniform distribution of chromium impurity have been considered. The dielectric hysteresis loop of the samples is characterized by a large shift along both the polarization axis and the electric field direction. The results are explained well within the phenomenological approach with allowance for the gradient term in the expansion of free energy. It is established that the unipolarity coefficient and pyroelectric signal of inhomogeneous crystals barely changes during multiple heating-cooling cycles.  相似文献

The specific features of the ferroelectric behavior of triglycine sulfate crystals with a nonuniform distribution of chromium impurities are analyzed. It is demonstrated that the dielectric hysteresis loops of the samples exhibit large shifts both along the polarization and electric field directions. The results obtained are well explained within the phenomenological approach with due regard for the gradient term in the expansion of the free energy. A complex investigation of the domain structure and dielectric properties of triglycine sulfate (TGS) crystals containing profile layers doped with D,L-α-alanine (DLATGS) and L-α-alanine (LATGS) impurities is carried out. The images of the DLATGS and LATGS layers and ferroelectric domains are obtained by piezoelectric force microscopy; the parameters of the domain structure and the degree of unipolarity are determined. It is established that DLATGS layers are multidomain and LATGS stripes are mainly single-domain. The experimental data on the macroscopic dielectric properties of the crystals are compared with the results of a microscopic analysis of the domain structure.  相似文献

Generation of runaway electrons and X-ray radiation in helium and air under the action of a pulsed-periodic discharge in a nonuniform electric field is studied. Positive and negative voltage pulses with a repetition rate of up to 1 kHz, a duration on the order of 1 ns, and an incident wave amplitude of 12.5 kV are applied to a needle-plane gap. For both polarities of the main voltage pulse and a helium pressure from several Torr to several tens of Torr, the arrival of negative reflected voltage pulses at the gap is shown to be accompanied by an electron beam generation. X-ray radiation is detected in a wide range of pressure, including under normal pressure of helium and air.  相似文献

The spectrum of excitation of Rydberg states of thallium atoms has been investigated using a collimated atomic beam in a two-step isotope selective laser scheme 62P1/2 → 62D3/2 → Tl** in the presence of an electric field with a strength of up to 1.5 kV/cm near the level 16F5/2. The optical transitions 6D3/2 → 18D3/2 and 6D3/2 → 16G7/2, which were induced by an external electric field and dipole-forbidden, have been studied experimentally. The values for the scalar polarizabilities (in units сm–1/(kV/сm)2) α0(16F5/2) = 3.71 ± 0.3, α0(18D3/2) = 11.70 ± 0.25, and α0(16G7/2) = 44.1 ± 0.9, which are compared with the calculated one, have been obtained. The new values of energy parameters for the states 18D3/2 and 16G7/2 have been determined.  相似文献
