According to the theory of superselection sectors of Doplicher, Haag, and Roberts, field operators which make transitions between different superselection sectors—i.e. different irreducible representations of the observable algebra—are to be constructed by adjoining localized endomorphisms to the algebra of local observables. We find the relevant endomorphisms of the chiral algebra of observables in the minimal conformal model with central chargec=1/2 (Ising model). We show by explicit and elementary construction how they determine a representation of the braid groupB
which is associated with a Temperley-Lieb-Jones algebra. We recover fusion rules, and compute the quantum dimensions of the superselection sectors. We exhibit a field algebra which is quantum group covariant and acts in the Hilbert space of physical states. It obeys local braid relations in an appropriate weak sense. 相似文献

We provide an analytic theory of Anderson localization on a lattice with a weak short-range correlated disordered potential. Contrary to the general belief, we demonstrate that already next-neighbor statistical correlations in the potential can give rise to strong anomalies in the localization length and the density of states, and to the complete violation of single-parameter scaling. Such anomalies originate in additional symmetries of the lattice model in the limit of weak disorder. The results of numerical simulations are in full agreement with our theory, with no adjustable parameters. 相似文献

In the semiclassical limit of open ballistic quantum systems, we demonstrate the emergence of instantaneous decay modes guided by classical escape faster than the Ehrenfest time. The decay time of the associated quasibound states is smaller than the classical time of flight. The remaining long-lived quasibound states obey random-matrix statistics, renormalized in compliance with the recently proposed fractal Weyl law for open systems [W.T. Lu, S. Sridhar, and M. Zworski, Phys. Rev. Lett. 91, 154101 (2003)]. We validate our theory numerically for a model system, the open kicked rotator. 相似文献

We study the correction of errors that have accumulated in an entangled state of spins as a result of unknown local variations in the Zeeman energy ( B) and spin-spin interaction energy ( J). A nondegenerate code with error rate kappa can recover the original state with high fidelity within a time t(R) approximately Planck's over 2pikappa(1/2)/max(B,J)-independent of the number of encoded qubits. Whether the Hamiltonian is chaotic or not does not affect this time scale, but it does affect the complexity of the error-correcting code. 相似文献

We investigate broken rational tori consisting of a chain of four (rather than two) periodic orbits. The normal form that
describes this configuration is identified and used to construct a uniform semiclassical approximation, which can be utilized
to improve trace formulae. An accuracy gain can be achieved even for the situation when two of the four orbits are ghosts.
This is illustrated for a model system, the kicked top.

We investigate decoherence in the quantum kicked rotator (modeling cold atoms in a pulsed optical field) subjected to noise with power-law tail waiting-time distributions of variable exponent (Lévy noise). We demonstrate the existence of a regime of nonexponential decoherence where the notion of a decoherence rate is ill defined. In this regime, dynamical localization is never fully destroyed, indicating that the dynamics of the quantum system never reaches the classical limit. We show that this leads to quantum subdiffusion of the momentum, which should be observable in an experiment. 相似文献

In quantum theory, symmetries more general than groups are possible. We give a general definition of a quantum symmetry, such that symmetry operations act on the Hilbert space
of physical states and notions of unitarity, invariance and covariance are defined. Within this frame, weak quasi quantum groups are described as a natural generalization of group algebras. Consistency with locality distinguishes them from more general quantum symmetries. To find the new kinds of symmetry one should investigate low dimensional quantum systems such as two-dimensional layers. 相似文献
