We show that a system with competing interactions on different length scales, relevant to the formation of stripes in doped Mott insulators, undergoes a self-generated glass transition which is caused by the frustrated nature of the interactions and not related to the presence of quenched disorder. An exponentially large number of metastable configurations is found, leading to a slow, landscape dominated long time relaxation and a breakup of the system into a disordered inhomogeneous state. 相似文献

We demonstrate that the changes in the elastic properties of the FeAs systems, as seen in our resonant ultrasound spectroscopy data, can be naturally understood in terms of fluctuations of emerging nematic degrees of freedom. Both the softening of the lattice in the normal, tetragonal phase as well as its hardening in the superconducting phase are consistently described by our model. Our results confirm the view that structural order is induced by magnetic fluctuations. 相似文献

We have investigated the electronic states in quasi-one-dimensional CuO chains by microprobe angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy. We find that the quasiparticle Fermi surface consists of six disconnected segments, consistent with recent theoretical calculations that predict the formation of narrow, elongated Fermi surface pockets for coupled CuO chains. In addition, we find a strong renormalization effect with a significant kink structure in the band dispersion. The properties of this latter effect [energy scale (~40 meV), temperature dependence, and behavior with Zn-doping] are identical to those of the bosonic mode observed in CuO2 planes of high-temperature superconductors, indicating they have a common origin. 相似文献

We investigate, within the fluctuation-exchange approximation, a correlated-electron model for represented by two inequivalent Hubbard layers coupled by an interlayer hopping . An energy offset is introduced in order to produce a different charge carrier concentration in the two layers. We compare several single-particle
and magnetic excitations, namely, the single particle scattering rate, the spectral function and the spin lattice as well
as spin-spin relaxation times in the two layers as a function of . We show that the induced interlayer magnetic coupling produces a tendency to “equalization” of the magnetic properties in
the two layers whereby antiferromagnetic fluctuations are suppressed in the less doped layer and enhanced in the heavily doped
one.The strong antiferromagnetic bilayer coupling causes the charge carriers in the plane with larger doping concentration
to behave similar to those of the underdoped layer, they are coupled to. This effect grows for decreasing temperature. For
high temperatures or if both layers are optimally or overdoped, i.e. when the antiferromagnetic correlation length becomes of the order or smaller than one lattice site the charge carrier and
magnetic dynamics of the two layers is disconnected and the equalization effect disappears. These results are in good agreement
with NMR experiments on by Stern et al. [Phys. Rev B 51, 15478 (1995)]. We also compare the results with calculations on bilayer systems with equivalent layers as models for the
constituent compounds and .

We introduce and analyze a variational wave function for quasi-two-dimensional kappa-(ET)(2) organic salts containing strong local and nonlocal correlation effects. We find an unconventional superconducting ground state for intermediate charge carrier interaction, sandwiched between a conventional metal at weak coupling and a spin liquid at larger coupling. Most remarkably, the excitation spectrum is dramatically renormalized and is found to be the driving force for the formation of the unusual superconducting state. 相似文献

We use high resolution angle-resolved photoemission to study the electronic structure of the iron based high-temperature superconductors Ba(Fe(1-x)Ru(x))(2)As(2) as a function of Ru concentration. We find that substitution of Ru for Fe is isoelectronic, i.e., it does not change the value of the chemical potential. More interestingly, there are no measured, significant changes in the shape of the Fermi surface or in the Fermi velocity over a wide range of substitution levels (0相似文献
