The results of experimental studies into efficiency of removal of films with a complex composition from metal mirrors by pulsed fiber laser irradiation are presented. It is shown that the initial reflectivity of optical elements can be restored by the selection of modes of irradiation impacting the surface with the sputtered film. Effective cleaning is performed by radiation with a power density lower than 107 W/cm2. The removal of contaminations at such a relatively low power density occurs in a solid phase, owing to which the thermal effect on the mirror is insignificant.  相似文献

We theoretically describe a novel configuration of a vertically coupled whispering-gallery-mode resonator waveguide. The waveguide is formed as a chain of doughnut-shaped low-contrast ripples on the surface of a vertical cylinder made from an optically transparent material. One can manipulate the properties of the waveguide by changing the shape of the resonators and the separation distance between them. Application of the structure as an optical delay line is discussed.  相似文献

We have demonstrated the engineering of a precise shift in the resonance frequency of high-Q (10(8))whispering-gallery modes in microspheres of germanium-doped silica with UV irradiation. With 600 mW of 351-nm radiation from an Ar-ion laser, 18-GHz permanent frequency shifts were obtained for modes of 1550-nm wavelength, enough to tune a resonance over a full free spectral range.  相似文献

We report on generation of a 20 nm wide, 35 GHz repetition rate optical frequency comb in a magnesium fluoride whispering gallery mode resonator pumped with 2 mW of 1543 nm light. The high efficiency of comb generation is associated with the small anomalous group velocity dispersion of the resonator. Growth dynamics of the comb is studied and compared with earlier theoretical predictions.  相似文献

We demonstrate strongly nondegenerate optical continuous-wave parametric oscillations in crystalline whispering gallery mode resonators fabricated from LiNbO3. The required phase matching is achieved by geometrical confinement of the modes in the resonator.  相似文献

We report on the experimental demonstration of a tunable monolithic optical frequency comb generator. The device is based on four-wave mixing in a crystalline calcium fluoride whispering gallery mode resonator. The frequency spacing of the comb is given by an integer number of the free spectral range of the resonator. We select the desired number by tuning the frequency of the pumping laser with respect to the corresponding resonator mode. We also observe a rich variety of optical combs and high-frequency hyperparametric oscillation, depending on the experimental conditions. A potential application of the comb for generating tunable narrow band frequency microwave signals is demonstrated.  相似文献

Single crystals of UO2(n-C3H7COO)2(H2O)2 (I) and Mg(H2O)6[UO2(n-C3H7COO)3]2 (II) are synthesized. Their IR-spectroscopic and X-ray diffraction studies are performed. Crystals I are monoclinic, a = 9.8124(7) Å, b = 19.2394(14) Å, c = 12.9251(11) Å, β = 122.423(1)°, space group P21/c, Z = 6, and R = 0.0268. Crystals II are cubic, a = 15.6935(6) Å, space group $Pa\bar 3$ , Z = 4, and R = 0.0173. The main structural units of I and II are [UO2(C3H7COO)2(H2O)2] molecules and [UO2(C3H7COO)3]? anionic complexes, respectively, which belong to AB 2 01 M 2 1 (I) and AB 3 01 (II) crystal chemical groups of uranyl complexes (A = UO 2 2+ , B 01 = C3H7COO?, and M 1 = H2O). A crystal chemical analysis of UO2 L 2 · nH2O compounds, where L is a carboxylate ion, is performed.  相似文献

A 632.8-nm radiation-induced change in the conductivity of a regular domain structure (RDS) formed in a 5% MgO:LiNbO3 crystal has been detected for the first time. As a result, the relaxation rate for the Bragg diffraction efficiency on the RDS, which is observed after the application of an external electric field, increases with the intensity of a probe beam. This dependence is linear in the initial stage of relaxation caused by the screening of the external field because of the redistribution of charges over tilted conductive domain walls of the RDS. For the probe beam with an intensity of 49 mW/mm2, the induced effective conductivity of the RDS, which is estimated as σeff = 3.5×10−9Ω−1m−1, is more than four orders of magnitude higher than the dark conductivity of the single-domain MgO:LiNbO3 sample.
