The solution behavior of new copolymers of methyl methacrylate and benzazole dyes emitting fluorescence because of an intramolecular proton‐transfer mechanism in the electronically excited state has been investigated by static light scattering, fluorescence spectroscopy, ultraviolet–visible, and gel permeation chromatography. In the dilute regime, with tetrahydrofuran (THF) and chloroform as solvents, the copolymers behave as typical polydisperse linear chains in good solvents. The analysis of the osmotic modulus for concentrated solutions in THF (c ≥ 60 g L?1) indicates the existence of an interchain association mechanism. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We have carried out a molecular dynamics study of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in water at 298 K at two different densities by simulating two different concentrations: 0.055 and 0.19 mole fraction. We have found an enhancement in the structure of water, an effect that becomes more pronounced as the concentration of DMSO increases. At both concentrations there is a well-defined hydration structure around the oxygen atom of DMSO, which is able to establish strong hydrogen bonds with surrounding water molecules. An increase in the concentration of DMSO depletes the solution of bulk water molecules, reducing the number of hydrogen bonds that water can have in the immediate vicinity of DMSO but increasing the strength of the hydrogen bonds made between the oxygen atom of DMSO and water. There is clear evidence of ‘hydrophobic’ hydration around the methyl groups of DMSO, which is enhanced as the concentration of DMSO increases.  相似文献

This work reports preliminary studies on the characterisation of anhydrous ethanol (AEA) used as an automotive fuel mixed with gasoline in Porto Alegre (South Brazil). Pre-concentration of the impurities contained in 1000 ml of AEA was carried on through solid-phase extraction using XAD4 resin. The main compounds in the extract were identified by means of spectral data from the library of the equipment. The concentrate was then fractionated using a preparative liquid chromatographic column filled with activated silica gel and the elution procedure was carried out with, n-hexane, n-hexane-benzene (1:1, v/v) and dichloromethane. Prior to analysis by GC-MS, each fraction was reduced to 1 ml with a gentle stream of nitrogen. Saturated linear hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons eluted in the first fraction and oxygenated compounds such as aldehydes. ketones and alcohols, eluted in the second one. were the main compounds detected in the sample.  相似文献

A spectral study of ascorbic acid was made in buffer solutions of different pH. The molar absorptivities of the unionized (?HA) and ionized (?A-) forms of ascorbic acid were determined at six wavelengths. An isosbestic point occurs at 250.7 nm; the molar absorptivity at this wavelength is 8250 ± 150 l mol-1 cm-1. The spectral information presented is of importance for the spectrophotometric assay of samples containing vitamin C.  相似文献

Therapeutic efficiency and hemolytic toxicity of primaquine (PQ), the only drug available for radical cure of relapsing vivax malaria are believed to be mediated by its metabolites. However, identification of these metabolites has remained a major challenge apparently due to low quantities and their reactive nature. Drug candidates labeled with stable isotopes afford convenient tools for tracking drug‐derived metabolites in complex matrices by liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry (LC‐MS‐MS) and filtering for masses with twin peaks attributable to the label. This study was undertaken to identify metabolites of PQ from an in vitro incubation of a 1:1 w/w mixture of 13C6‐PQ/PQ with primary human hepatocytes. Acquity ultra‐performance LC (UHPLC) was integrated with QTOF‐MS to combine the efficiency of separation with high sensitivity, selectivity of detection and accurate mass determination. UHPLC retention time, twin mass peaks with difference of 6 (originating from 13C6‐PQ/PQ), and MS‐MS fragmentation pattern were used for phenotyping. Besides carboxy‐PQ (cPQ), formed by oxidative deamination of PQ to an aldehyde and subsequent oxidation, several other metabolites were identified: including PQ alcohol, predictably generated by oxidative deamination of PQ to an aldehyde and subsequent reduction, its acetate and the alcohol's glucuronide conjugate. Trace amounts of quinone‐imine metabolites of PQ and cPQ were also detected which may be generated by hydroxylation of the PQ/cPQ quinoline ring at the 5‐position and subsequent oxidation. These findings shed additional light on the human hepatic metabolism of PQ, and the method can be applied for identification of reactive PQ metabolites generated in vivo in preclinical and clinical studies. The study of network formation during the curing of an epoxy-resin with anhydride and tertiary amine has been carried out by the Monte Carlo method. Both dynamical and structural properties are studied. The model resembles the well known cluster-cluster aggregation: the reaction is modelled as a “geometrical” phenomenon and neglects attractive and repulsive energies except for an excluded volume condition. A reaction occurs always when two active sites are in the vicinity to each other, meaning that the “chemical” processes are taken to be much faster than diffusion (as in diffusion-limited aggregation). Results are presented of two-dimensional square lattice simulations with periodic boundary conditions and are discussed with respect to the proposed mechanism of the curing reaction and to the assumptions of the diffusion-limited nature of the processes. The scope and limitations of such two-dimensional simulations are discussed.  相似文献

The far infrared absorption spectra of liquid CH4, CF4 and CCl4 were measured in the range between 15 and 200 cm?1 The octupole induced dicole moment correlation functions of these liquids and of liquid CBr4, which was recalculated from literature data, were compared to the corresponding theoretical correlation functions obtained by molecular dynamics simulation and by analytical theory. At short times(0.05 ps in CH4 and 0.2 ps in CCl4) the experimental correlation function follows the model reorientational correlation functions. At longer times this is no more the case and the dynamics coherence observed is qualitatively interpreted in terms of a structural correlation in the liquids.  相似文献

For diffusion controlled reactions in solution a theory is proposed which includes the diffusion process, the lifetime of an encounter complex, and the rotation of the reacting species in the encounter complex.
