Chemistry of heteroanalogs of isoflavones

Condensation of 2-pyridylacetonitrile with polyphenols gave the corresponding -(2-pyridyl)-acetophenones, which were converted to the pyridine analogs of natural isoflavones and to 3-pyridylchromones with methyl, trifluoromethyl, and ethoxycarbonyl groups in the 2 position. Proteins isolated from tomato seeds are characterized. The solubility and other useful properties are investigated. The most stable emulsions are formed from the proteins precipitated at pH 5.0. Arenobufagin and gamabufotalin from the venom of the Central Asian green toadBufo viridis. Introduction,structural—functional features

Two bufodienolides have been isolated in the individual form from the Central Asian green toadBufo viridis for the first time. It has been established by₁H NMR, mass spectrometry, and x-ray structural analysis that these compounds are gamabufotalin (3, 11, 14-trihydroxy-5, 14ß-bufa-20,22-dienolide) and a crystalline modification of arenobufagin (3, 11, 14-trihydroxy-12-oxo-5, 14-bufa-20,22-dienolide). The biological activity of Bakagin — the total bufadienolides of the venom ofB. viridis, consisting predominantly of the compounds named — has been studied. Phosphorylation of proteins of isolated cotton plant chloroplasts under the action of various phytohormones and various concentrations of magnesium ions

cAMP and Ca phospholipid-dependent protein kinases have been detected in isolated cottonplant chloroplasts. Chemical Nuclear Polarization of Biradicals Created by Photolysis of Cyclic Aliphatic Ketones in the Gas Phase

Chemical nuclear polarization (CNP) of short-lived biradicals created in the photolysis of cyclic ketones in the gas phase with a buffer gas of CDCl₃ molecules was studied theoretically and experimentally. The magnetoresonance and kinetic parameters were proposed for the biradicals. The experimental fact that the CNP of cycloundecanone in the gas phase and liquid was the strongest was confirmed by calculations. The computational results agree well with the experiment for both gas and liquid phases.     

Vibrational spectra and the conformational composition of β-chloro- and β-bromophenetoles
