Marriage Partner Selection in Kuwait: An Analytical Hierarchy Process Approach

The decision to marry is one of the most critical decisions in young ladie' lives where wrong choices may have adverse effects. This study investigates this issue in developing countries using the small state of Kuwait as a manageable case study. This research utilizes the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) due to the multiplicity of objectives. Women from different ethnic, religious, and residential backgrounds were surveyed. The problem considers eight criteria and four alternatives (male candidates). It was found from the study that the most preferred criteria are personality, followed by marital status and religious status, respectively.     

Rigorous Results in Steady Finger Selection in Viscous Fingering

This paper concerns the existence of a steadily translating finger solution in a Hele-Shaw cell for small but non-zero surface tension (ɛ²). Though there are numerous numerical and formal asymptotic results for this problem, we know of no mathematically rigorous results that address the selection problem. We rigorously conclude that for relative finger width λ in the range , with small, analytic symmetric finger solutions exist in the asymptotic limit of surface tension if and only if the Stokes constant for a relatively simple nonlinear differential equation is zero. This Stokes constant S depends on the parameter and earlier calculations by a number of authors have shown it to be zero for a discrete set of values of a. The methodology consists of proving the existence and uniqueness of analytic solutions for a weak half-strip problem for any λ in a compact subset of (0, 1). The weak problem is shown to be equivalent to the original finger problem in the function space considered, provided we invoke a symmetry condition. Next, we consider the behavior of the solution in a neighborhood of an appropriate complex turning point for the restricted case , for some . This turning point accounts for exponentially small terms in ɛ, as ɛ→0⁺ that generally violate the symmetry condition. Robust adaptive synchronization of general dynamical networks with multiple delays and uncertainties

In this article, a general complex dynamical network which contains multiple delays and uncertainties is introduced, which contains time-varying coupling delays, time-varying node delay, and uncertainties of both the inner- and outer-coupling matrices. A robust adaptive synchronization scheme for these general complex networks with multiple delays and uncertainties is established and raised by employing the robust adaptive control principle and the Lyapunov stability theory. We choose some suitable adaptive synchronization controllers to ensure the robust synchronization of this dynamical network. The numerical simulations of the time-delay Lorenz chaotic system as local dynamical node are provided to observe and verify the viability and productivity of the theoretical research in this paper. Compared to the achievement of previous research, the research in this paper seems quite comprehensive and universal.
