An analytical expression of the complex permittivity is derived for absorbing centres featuring inhomogeneous absorption-line broadening. Such an expression gives the dispersion law of the real part of the permittivity when the imaginary part has a Gaussian lineshape. Our mathematical approach starts from an overlap integral of Lorentzian-type dielectric susceptibilities weighted by a Gaussian probability distribution of the resonance absorption energies. The analytical solution found is consistent with the Kramers–Kronig relation. We demonstrate that, like in the case of homogeneous absorption-line broadening, the refractive index increases at photon energies lower than the resonance absorption energy also for inhomogeneous absorption-line broadening; if the absorbing centres emit Stokes-shifted radiation, such an increase can be exploited for passive and active waveguiding applications. An example is reported regarding active waveguides based on colour centres in a lithium fluoride crystal.  相似文献

Tale funzione, in generale, non è purtroppo numerabile e quindi non si presta alla classificazione delleH-fibrazioni numerabili. Successivamente (1971), M. Fuchs ha trovato un modo di modificare la costruzione di Dold-Lashof per recuperare la numerabilità. La costruzione di Dold-Lashof-Fuchs è, da allora, uno dei principali strumenti nella teoria degli spazi classificanti di monoidi topologici, anche se vi è un uso di topologie alquanto complesse e quindi poco maneggevoli. In questo lavoro ci proponiamo di mostrare come, lavorando nella categoria conveniente deik-spazi, sia possibile descrivere la costruzione di Dold-Lashof-Fuchs in modo estremamente semplificato ed adattarla anche alla classificazione delleF-fibrazioni numerabili.

The direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide offers a potentially green route to the production of this important commodity chemical. Early studies showed that Pd is a suitable catalyst, but recent work indicated that the addition of Au enhances the activity and selectivity significantly. The addition of a third metal using impregnation as a facile preparation method was thus investigated. The addition of a small amount of Pt to a CeO2‐supported AuPd (weight ratio of 1:1) catalyst significantly enhanced the activity in the direct synthesis of H2O2 and decreased the non‐desired over‐hydrogenation and decomposition reactions. The addition of Pt to the AuPd nanoparticles influenced the surface composition, thus leading to the marked effects that were observed on the catalytic formation of hydrogen peroxide. In addition, an experimental approach that can help to identify the optimal nominal ternary alloy compositions for this reaction is demonstrated.  相似文献

The comparative far-infrared spectroscopy studies of Rb0.8Cs0.2Cl and Rb0.8Cs0.2Cl containing CsPbCl3 nanocrystals between 170 and 320 K are reported. The effect of cesium lead chloride nanocrystals on the phonon modes of the host matrix, particularly manifested in different temperature behavior of LO–TO splitting and the temperature dependence of high frequency dielectric constant, are demonstrated.  相似文献

Thermoresponsive poly(N‐vinylcaprolactam) nanocomposite hydrogels containing graphene were successfully prepared by frontal polymerization. High concentration of graphene (5.0 mg/mL) was obtained by direct graphite sonication in the self‐same liquid monomer, thus avoiding any chemical manipulation and obtaining “real” graphene as nanofiller instead of one of its more or less oxidized derivative, which is what generally reported in published reports. Furthermore, the corresponding nanocomposites were obtained without using any solvent to be eventually removed. The materials were fully characterized by RAMAN, SEM, and TEM, and their swelling behavior and rheological properties were investigated. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. High-luminosity e + e colliders at the GeV scale (flavor factories) have been recently recognized to be an ideal environment to search for a light weakly coupled vector boson U (dark photon) emerging in several new physics models. At flavor factories a particularly clean channel is the production of the U boson in association with a photon, followed by the decay of the U boson into lepton pairs. Beyond the approximations addressed in previous works, we perform an exact lowest order calculation of the signal and background processes of this channel. We also include the effect of initial- and final-state QED corrections neglected so far, to show how they affect the distributions of experimental interest. We present new results for the expected statistical significance to a dark photon signal at KLOE/KLOE-2 and future super-B factories. The calculation is implemented in a new release of the event generator BabaYaga@NLO, which is available for full event simulations and data analysis.  相似文献

Sol–gel processing of thin films involves time dependent phenomena which are basically driven by solvent evaporation. An example is evaporation induced self-assembly that is used to prepare mesoporous ordered films through self-organization of templating micelles. The possibility to follow in situ as a function of time the evolution of the system can give a better knowledge of the process and the physics and chemistry beneath. Time-resolved infrared techniques have been applied to different sol–gel systems to study time-dependent phenomena, in particular rapid scan time resolved infrared spectroscopy has been used to monitor in situ the process and as a tool to design the sol–gel synthesis.  相似文献

The status and accuracy of the precision Monte Carlo generators used for luminosity measurements at flavour factories is reviewed.It is shown that,thanks to a considerable,long-term effort in tuned comparisons between the predictions of independent programs,as well as in the validation of the generators against the presently available calculations of the next-to-next-to-leading order QED corrections to Bhabha scattering,the theoretical accuracy reached by the most precise tools is of about one per mille.This error estimate is valid for realistic experimental cuts,appears to be quite robust and is already sufficient for very accurate luminosity measurements.However,recent progress and possible advances to further improve it are also discussed.  相似文献
