ESR studies on heterogeneous processes in irradiated SiO2/B2O3+H2O systems

Effect of B³⁺ (%B₂O₃) percentage ratio in silica gel on the nature and the mechanism of defect formation and yields of paramagnetic radiation centers (PC) have been studied. The nature of paramagnetic radiation centers of electron hole type has been revealed and their behavior has been investigated as a function of temperature changes. It has been found that the interaction between paramagnetic centers formed at SiO₂/B₂O₃ surface with absorbed water molecules (=1) leads to the formation of H and OH radicals. In addition the experiment shows that increased B³⁺ (%B₂O₃) percentage ratio in silica gel results in higher yields of paramagnetic centers and H-radicals. Possible mechanism of formation, localization and annihilation of non-equilibrium charge carriers (NCC) and their energy transfer to the adsorbed phase has been suggested.     

Half-inverse problem for diffusion operators on the finite interval

The potential function q(x) in the regular and singular Sturm-Liouville problem can be uniquely determined from two spectra. Inverse problem for diffusion operator given at the finite interval eigenvalues, normal numbers also on two spectra are solved. Half-inverse spectral problem for a Sturm-Liouville operator consists in reconstruction of this operator by its spectrum and half of the potential. In this study, by using the Hochstadt and Lieberman's method we show that if q(x) is prescribed on , then only one spectrum is sufficient to determine q(x) on the interval for diffusion operator.

On inverse problem for singular Sturm-Liouville operator from two spectra

We study an inverse problem with two given spectra for a second-order differential operator with singularity of the type (here, l is a positive integer or zero) at zero point. It is well known that two spectra {λ _n } and {λ _n } uniquely determine the potential function q(r) in the singular Sturm-Liouville equation defined on the interval (0, π]. One of the aims of the paper is to prove the generalized degeneracy of the kernel K(r, s). In particular, we obtain a new proof of the Hochstadt theorem concerning the structure of the difference .
