Thin films of lead sulfide (PbS) nanoparticles were grown on corning glass and Si(1 0 0) substrates by polyethylene glycol-assisted chemical bath deposition (CBD) method. This paper compares the morphology and the luminescence properties (PL) of the deposited thin films in the presence (or absence) of PEG300 and investigates the effect of deposition temperatures. Surface morphology and photoluminescence properties of samples were analyzed. The PL data show a blue-shift from the normal emission at ∼2900 nm in PbS bulk to ∼360 nm in nanoparticles of PbS thin films. Furthermore, the PL emission of the films obtained without the addition of PEG300 (type 1) was slightly shifted from that of the films obtained in presence of PEG300 (type 2) from ∼360 to ∼470 nm. The blue-shifting of the emission wavelengths from 2900 to ∼360 or 470 nm is attributed to quantum confinement of charge carriers in the restricted volume of nanoparticles, while the shift between the two types of PbS nanoparticles thin films is speculated to be due to an increase in the defect concentration. The blue-shift increased with increase of the deposition temperature, which suggests that there has been a relative depletion in particle sizes during the CBD of the films at higher temperatures. The PbS nanocrystalline thin films obtained in the presence of PEG300 at 60 °C exhibit a high blue luminescence.  相似文献

Partial oxidation of methane to formaldehyde and methanol was studied at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range of 700-750 °C using heteropolycompound catalysts (NH4)6HSiMo11FeO40, (NH4)4PMo11FeO39, and H4PMo11VO40, which were prepared and characterized by various analysis techniques such as infrared, visible UV, XRD and DTA. O2 or N2O was used as the oxidizing agent, and the principal products of the reaction were CH3OH, CH2O, CO, CO2, and water. The conversion and the selectivity of products depend strongly on the reaction temperature, the nature of oxidizing agent, and the composition of catalyst.  相似文献

The morphology of silicon nanowire (SiNW) layers formed by Ag-assisted electroless etching in HF/H2O2 solution was studied. Prior to the etching, the Ag nanoparticles were deposited on p-type Si(1 0 0) wafers by electroless metal deposition (EMD) in HF/AgNO3 solution at room temperature. The effect of etching temperature and silicon resistivity on the formation process of nanowires was studied. The secondary ion mass spectra (SIMS) technique is used to study the penetration of silver in the etched layers. The morphology of etched layers was investigated by scanning electron microscope (SEM).  相似文献

This work reports synthesis and characterizations of two new electron-poor “oligo(phenyleneethynylene) (OPE) type” molecular wires for fundamental studies of electron transport in molecular junctions. These OPE derivatives display three aromatic rings functionalized (i) with NO2 (OPN) or fluorine (OPF) groups on the central aryl core and (ii) with the requisite protected thiolate anchoring groups on the lateral rings at both ends. We show that the moderately effective Sonogashira couplings can give access to such rare electrodeficient molecules but are unfortunately associated with significant side reactions. We detail the choice of adequate reaction conditions to allow the recovery of suitable amounts of compounds bearing several strongly electron-withdrawing substituents on their central ring for further study of the physical properties.  相似文献

Modification of epoxy resin using reactive liquid (ATBN) rubber   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
Epoxy resins are widely utilised as high performance thermosetting resins for many industrial applications but unfortunately some are characterised by a relatively low toughness. In this respect, many efforts have been made to improve the toughness of cured epoxy resins by the introduction of rigid particles, reactive rubbers, interpenetrating polymer networks and engineering thermoplastics within the matrix.In the present work liquid amine-terminated butadiene acrylonitrile (ATBN) copolymers containing 16% acrylonitrile is added at different contents to improve the toughness of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A epoxy resin using polyaminoimidazoline as a curing agent. The chemical reactions suspected to take place during the modification of the epoxy resin were monitored and evidenced using a Fourier transform infrared. The glass transition temperature (Tg) was measured using a differential scanning calorimeter. The mechanical behaviour of the modified epoxy resin was evaluated in terms of Izod impact strength (IS), critical stress intensity factor, and tensile properties at different modifier contents. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to elucidate the mechanisms of deformation and toughening in addition to other morphological features. Finally, the adhesive properties of the modified epoxy resin were measured in terms of tensile shear strength (TSS).When modifying epoxy resin with liquid rubber (ATBN), all reactivity characteristics (gel time and temperature, cure time and exotherm peak) decreased. The infrared analysis evidenced the occurrence of a chemical reaction between the two components. Addition of ATBN led to a decrease in either the glass transition temperature and stress at break accompanied with an increase in elongation at break and the appearance of some yielding. As expected, the tensile modulus decreased slightly from 1.85 to about 1.34 GPa with increasing ATBN content; whereas a 3-fold increase in Izod IS was obtained by just adding 12.5 phr ATBN compared to the unfilled resin. It is obvious that upon addition of ATBN, the Izod IS increased drastically from 0.85 to 2.86 kJ/m2 and from 4.19 to 14.26 kJ/m2 for notched and unnotched specimens respectively while KIC varies from 0.91 to 1.49 MPa m1/2 (1.5-fold increase). Concerning the adhesive properties, the TSS increased from 9.14 to 15.96 MPa just by adding 5 phr ATBN. Finally SEM analysis results suggest rubber particles cavitation and localised plastic shear yielding induced by the presence of the dispersed rubber particles within the epoxy matrix as the prevailing toughening mechanism.  相似文献

Polymer blends based on polyolefins constitute materials of a great interest owing to their broad spectrum of properties and practical applications. However, due to the poor compatibility of the components, most of these systems are generally characterized by high interfacial tension, low degree of dispersion and poor mechanical properties. It is generally accepted that PP and Nylon 6 are not compatible and that blending of these materials results in poor properties. This compatibility can be improved by the addition of a compatibilizer. In this study, the PP is first functionalised by Maleic Anhydride (MAH) in the presence of an optimized amount of Dicumyl peroxide (DCP). The reaction was carried out in the molten state using an internal mixer. Then, once the compatibilizer (PP-g-MAH) was prepared, it was added at a various concentration (2.5 - 10 wt.%) to 30/70 Glass Fiber Reinforced Nylon 6 (GFRN6)/PP and their mechanical properties are evaluated. It has been found that the incorporation of the compatibilizer enhances the tensile properties (tensile strength and the modulus) as well as the izod impact properties of the notched samples. This was attributed to better interfacial adhesion as evidenced by SEM. The optimum in these properties is reached at a critical PP-g-MAH concentration (5 wt.%).  相似文献
