In the data obtained at the Baksan underground scintillation telescope (BUST), electron neutrinos and antineutrinos with energies above 21 MeV have been sought in coincidence with the GW150914, GW151226, GW170104, GW170608, GW170814, and GW170817 gravitational wave events. No neutrino signals from gravitational wave events have been detected in the interval of ±500 s at the Baksan underground scintillation telescope. Bounds on the fluxes of low-energy electron neutrinos and antineutrinos from astrophysical sources of gravitational bursts have been obtained.  相似文献

Highly resolved CKα spectra of the compounds K3C60 and K6C60 synthesized by thermal decomposition of potassium azide in a vacuum chamber of an X-ray tube were obtained. The possibility of monitoring the extent of intercalation of fullerenes by the CKα spectra is demonstrated. The results are compared with the MNDO calculations for K6C60. The data are used to construct a diagram of the structure of the highest occupied and C1s levels in the series C60−K3C60−K6C60. Deceased. The energy spectrum of cosmic ray muons in the range of several TeV to PeV obtained through the analysis of multiple interactions of muons (the pair meter technique) in the Baksan Underground Scintillation Telescope (BUST) is presented. Preliminary results of a neutron background measurement at the Baksan underground scintillation telescope (BUST) are presented. The external planes of the BUST are fully covered with standard scintillation detectors shielding the internal planes and suppressing thus background events due to cosmogenic and local radioactivity. The shielded internal planes were used as target for the neutron flux registration. The experimental method is based on the delayed coincidences between signals from any of the BUST counters. It is assumed that the first signal is due to inelastic interaction of a neutron with the organic scintillator, while the second signal comes from the decay of an unstable radioactive isotope formed when the fast neutron interacts with the 12C nuclei. Using the Monte-Carlo method (GEANT4) we also simulated propagation of neutrons through a layer of scintillator. The experimentally found muon induced neutron flux is j =1.3-0.3+0.7 ×10-10cm-2s-1 for neutron energies E ≥ 22MeV, which is in a qualitative agreement with similar measurements of other underground laboratories as well as with predictions of the GEANT4.  相似文献

Experimental data obtained with the aid of the Baksan underground scintillation telescope over a long period of its operation are analyzed with the aim of searches for an excess flux of ultrahigh-energy (≥100 TeV)muons. The multiple-interaction method, which is based on the ideas of the pair-meter technique, is used to analyze the energy spectrum of the muons. The phenomenological parameters of this method and its sensitivity to the shape of the spectrum are discussed. The experimental distributions are compared with the results of calculations for various versions of the muon spectrum. The possibility of separating ultrahigh-energy muons that fly in the vicinity of the axis of extensive air showers is assessed on the basis of the integrated number of recorded and simulated events featuring large energy depositions.  相似文献

The Baksan Underground Scintillation Telescope has operated within the program of searching for neutrino bursts since the mid-1980s. We present the current status of the experiment and some results related to the investigation of background events and the stability of facility operation. Over the period from June 30, 1980, to December 31, 2016, the pure observation time was 31.27 years. No neutrino burst candidate event from the explosion of a core-collapse supernova in the Galaxy was recorded in this time. This sets an upper bound of 0.074 yr–1 on the mean frequency of gravitational stellar collapses in the Galaxy at a 90% confidence level.  相似文献
