A measurement of direct photon production in 208Pb+208Pb collisions at 158A GeV has been carried out in the CERN WA98 experiment. The invariant yield of direct photons in central collisions is extracted as a function of transverse momentum in the interval 0.5
1.5 GeV/c. The result constitutes the first observation of direct photons in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions. It could be significant for diagnosis of quark-gluon-plasma formation. 相似文献

The amplitude gAB of Aharonov-Bohm oscillations in a small semiconductor ring interferometer is studied as a function of the average conductance GAV. Experimentally, it is found that, in the tunneling regime, the relative amplitude gAB/GAV of h/e oscillations is constant in the rings under investigation and smaller than unity. The small value of gAB/GAV in ring interferometers in the tunneling regime at low temperatures is explained by the difference in the amplitudes of the interfering electron waves. 相似文献

We discuss the rate of relaxation of the total spin in a two-electron droplet in the vicinity of the magnetic-field-driven singlet-triplet transition. The total spin relaxation is attributed to spin-orbit and electron-phonon interactions. The relaxation process is found to depend on the spin of ground and excited states. This asymmetry is used to explain puzzles in recent high source-drain transport experiments. 相似文献

The effect of microwave electromagnetic radiation on the resistance of the 2D electron gas in a GaAs/AlAs heterostructure
in a strong magnetic field is investigated. It is shown that, under the nonequilibrium conditions caused by microwave radiation,
the aforementioned 2D system exhibits giant oscillations of its resistance with varying magnetic field. When the measuring
current density is small, an increase in the microwave power leads to the appearance of an absolute negative resistance at
the main minimum of these oscillations, which lies near the cyclotron resonance. The experimental data are found to be in
qualitative agreement with the theory of multiphoton photoinduced impurity scattering [J. Inarrea and G. Platero, Appl. Phys.
Lett. 89, 052109 (2006)].

Magnetotransport properties of submicron rings fabricated on the basis of 2D electron gas in a GaAs double quantum well are studied. It is shown that, in such interferometers, the Aharonov-Bohm effect is caused by coherent processes in two weakly coupled rings, which have different widths of electron channels. In these interferometers, a phase inversion of h/e oscillations is observed under the action of the parallel component of a tilted magnetic field. This phenomenon is qualitatively explained by a redistribution of charge carriers in the two rings. 相似文献

In this paper we present tables of absolute differential cross sections of elastic pp scattering together with the values of the slope parameter B and the real-part parameter α, where and A(0) is the amplitude of elastic pp scattering at t = 0.
