A number of dipyrazolinyl-substituted 1,4-distyryl- and 1,4-distyryl-2-methylbenzenes — new luminophores that have intense yellow-green luminescence — were obtained by the Wittig reaction by refluxing 1-(4-formylphenyl)-3-aryl-5-phenyl-2-pyrazolines and aromatic bisphosphonium salts in isopropyl alcohol in the presence of sodium isopropoxide. The low reactivities of the aldehydes used and the predominant formation of trans isomers in the Wittig reaction are noted. The effects of alkylation of the 4-amino group, polarity and viscosity of a solvent, and temperature on the fluorescence ofN-(2,4-dimethylphenyl)imides of 4-amino-1,8-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid were studied. A decrease in the temperature and polarity
of 4-dimethylaminonaphthalimide to decrease and have almost no effect on the rate of emissive deactivation of excited state.
The abnormally low efficiency of fluorescence of 4-dimethylaminonaphthalimide in polar low-viscosity media at room temperature
is associated with the formation of a nonfluorescent charge-transfer state. The increase in the rate of radiationless deactivation
of 4-aminonaphthalimide in the alkylation of its amino group is associated with the increase in its electron-donor ability.

We have used optical spectroscopy to study the radial temperature profiles for an electric arc plasma between silver electrodes
and electrodes made from composite materials based on silver (Ag-CdO). We studied the structural changes in the working layers
of the electrodes by metallography. We established that the parameters of the arc discharge plasma are determined by the condition
of the electrode surface.
