Radical Cation States of 2,3,5,6,7,8-Hexamethylidenebicyclo [2.2.2]octane

The photoelectron spectrum of the title compound is reported and assigned by correlation with the photoelectron spectra of related molecules.     

Sulfonyl Ketenimines as Key Intermediates in One‐Pot Synthesis of N‐Sulfonyl‐2‐alkaneimidoyl Selenocyanates

Sulfonyl‐ketenimine intermediates, generated by the addition of Cu acetylides to sulfonyl azides, are trapped by KSeCN to afford N‐sulfonyl‐2‐alkaneimidoyl selenocyanates in moderate‐to‐good yields.     

Copper‐Catalyzed Tandem Synthesis of Functionalized Sulfonyl‐yn‐imines from Sodium Arylsulfinates,Trichloroacetonitrile, and Terminal Alkynes

A one‐pot synthesis of functionalized sulfonyl‐yn‐imines via a Cu‐catalyzed tandem reaction of sodium arylsulfinates, trichloroacetonitrile, and terminal alkynes has been developed.     

The He(Iα) Photoelectron Spectra of Substituted 1,2-Dithietes

The He(Iα) photoelectron (PE.) spectra of a series of substituted 1,2-dithietes have been recorded and assigned with respect to the orbital sequence derived from an STO-3G model calculation and by correlation with the PE. spectra of related compounds. The results provide additional support for the presence of a closed, four-membered ring moiety in all the 1,2-dithietes investigated. In all cases the two highest occupied molecular orbitals are b₂(π)= HOMO, a₂(π), with exception of 3,4-bis(trifluoromethyl)-1,2-dithiete where the sequence b₂(π), a₂(π) or a₂(π), b₂(π) is uncertain.     

EPR study of Mn2+ around the ferroelastic transition point of Pb3(PO4)2

The spin Hamiltonian parameters of Mn²⁺ have been measured above and below the transition point (180°C) of the lead phosphate. They show that Mn²⁺ substitutes a Pb_I ion. Between 175 and 180°C the principal axis OX of the fine tensor is parallel to the wave vector of the soft mode which condensates at the transition point. An exaltation of the linewidth is observed. The linewidth remains constant within 5°C of T_c; in this temperature range, the “static regime” is achieved, and the correlation time of the fluctuations is less than 10^?8 sec.
