We consider the one-dimensional steady-state semiconductor deviceequations modelling a pnpn device. There are two relevant scalingsof the equations corresponding to small and large applied voltages.In both scalings, the semiconductor equations can be consideredas singularly perturbed. It turns out that the small-voltagescaling breaks down for current values between two saturationcurrents. In that interval, the large-voltage scaling has tobe employed. For both scalings, we derive the first-order termsof an asymptotic expansion and show that the reduced problemhas a solution. An example verifies that the current-voltagecurves obtained have the expected qualitative structure.  相似文献

The first hohlraum experiments on the National Ignition Facility (NIF) using the initial four laser beams tested radiation temperature limits imposed by plasma filling. For a variety of hohlraum sizes and pulse lengths, the measured x-ray flux shows signatures of filling that coincide with hard x-ray emission from plasma streaming out of the hohlraum. These observations agree with hydrodynamic simulations and with an analytical model that includes hydrodynamic and coronal radiative losses. The modeling predicts radiation temperature limits with full NIF (1.8 MJ), greater, and of longer duration than required for ignition hohlraums.  相似文献

A study is carried out on the concentrations of rare earth element (REE) elements present in surface mangrove sediments from 10 locations throughout west coast Malaysia. In carrying out the analysis, the best and most convenient method being the instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). Samples were obtained, dried, crushed to powdery form and samples prepared for INAA. All the samples for analysis were weighted approximately 150 mg for short irradiation and 200 mg for long irradiation time. As calibration and quality control procedures, blank samples, standard reference material SL-1 were then irradiated with thermal neutron flux of 4 × 1012 cm?2 s?1 at the MINT TRIGA Mark II research reactor which operated at 750 kW by using a pneumatic transport facility. The REE elements of surface sediment samples in this study are Dy, Sm, Eu,Yb, Lu, Tb, La and Ce. It was found that the level of concentrations of all the REE elements varies in the range (0.35–117.4 mg/kg). The geochemical behavior of REEs in surface sediments and normalized pattern (chondrite and shale) has been studied. The degree of sediments contaminations were computed using an enrichment factor. The results showed that the enrichment factor varied in the range (0.75–6.75).  相似文献

In autopsy of humans, there is usually an interval of hours to days between death and tissue fixation, during which the cadaver is stored below room temperature to retard tissue autolysis. We have attempted to model this process and evaluate the alteration in diffusion indices of the postmortem brain in pigs, which were kept at 4°C. The pigs were scanned prior to death and at 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, 48 and 72 h postmortem. Regions of interest were placed in the corpus callosum, internal capsule, periventricular and subcortical white matter anteriorly and posteriorly. There was a slight increase in fractional anisotropy (FA) in the first 3 h postmortem. The FA remained stable up to 72 h postmortem. There was a marked decrease in trace, eigenmajor (λmajor), eigenmedium (λmedium) and eigenminor (λminor), particularly in the first 3 h following death. This study supports the utility of measuring diffusion anisotropy if the time elapsed between death and tissue fixation is within 3 days. However, trace and eigenvalues decreased markedly within the first few hours postmortem. Therefore trace and eigenvalues obtained from ex vivo studies cannot be extrapolated to in vivo studies.  相似文献

We demonstrate that multiple-ion-species plasmas greatly reduce stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in high-electron temperature inertial confinement fusion hohlraums. Landau damping is increased by adding hydrogen to a CO(2) gas filled hohlraum. We find that the SBS reflectivity decreases monotonically with increasing hydrogen fraction from 18% to 3% with a simultaneous increase of laser beam transmission. Detailed simulations with a 3D laser-plasma interaction code are in agreement with the experimentally observed reduction in backscattered light.  相似文献

Self-gating is investigated to improve the velocity resolution of real-time Fourier velocity encoding measurements in the absence of a reliable electrocardiogram waveform (e.g., fetal magnetic resonance or severe arrhythmia). Real-time flow data are acquired using interleaved k-space trajectories which share a common path near the origin of k-space. These common data provide a rapid self-gating signal that can be used to combine the interleaved data. The combined interleaves cover a greater area of k-space than a single real-time acquisition, thereby providing higher velocity resolution for a given aliasing velocity and temporal resolution. For example, this approach provided velocity spectra with a temporal resolution of 19 ms and velocity resolution of 22 cm/s over an 818 cm/s field-of-view. The method was validated experimentally using a computer-controlled pulsatile flow apparatus and applied in vivo to measure aortic-valve flow in a healthy volunteer.  相似文献

A spectrophotometric method for quantitative determination of complcxing agent in polynitroaromatic molecular compounds of naphthalene and its derivativcs is described. The procedure involves comparison of the absorbances of solutions of the molecular compounds and its complexing agent over a range of wavelengths where absorption by the complexed moiety is negligible. The first hydrodynamic experiments were performed on the National Ignition Facility. A supersonic jet was formed via the interaction of a laser driven shock ( approximately 40 Mbar) with 2D and 3D density perturbations. The temporal evolution of the jet's spatial scales and ejected mass were measured with point-projection x-ray radiography. Measurements of the large-scale features and mass are in good agreement with 2D and 3D numerical simulations. These experiments provide quantitative data on the evolution of 3D supersonic jets and provide insight into their 3D behavior.  相似文献
