We have utilized the selective process of β decay to populate low-energy excited states in the neutron-rich 22Ti, 23V, 24Cr, and 25Mn nuclei. The goal was to systematically track the monopole shift of the νf5/2 single-particle level with increased occupancy of the πf7/2 orbital. The β-decay properties of the parent nuclides, along with the low-energy structure of the daughters, are presented and compared with the results of shell model calculations employing the GXPF1 interaction.  相似文献

An alpha-decay branch of (1.4+/-0.4) x 10(-4) has been discovered in the decay of 109I, which predominantly decays via proton emission. The measured Q(alpha) value of 3918+/-21 keV allows the indirect determination of the Q value for proton emission from 105Sb of 356+/-22 keV, which is approximately of 130 keV more bound than previously reported. This result is relevant for the astrophysical rapid proton-capture process, which would terminate in the 105Sn(p,gamma)106Sb(p,gamma)107Te(alpha decay)103Sn cycle at the densities expected in explosive hydrogen burning scenarios, unless unusually strong pairing effects result in a 103Sn(p,gamma)104Sb(p,gamma)105Te(alpha decay)101Sn) cycle.  相似文献

The vibronic vapour phase photoacoustic spectrum of Br2 in the wavelength region 505–541 nm (19796–18480 cm−1) has been recorded using microphone as well as pump-probe method. Discrete vibronic bands superimposed on a monotonically increasing continuum background towards the dissociation limit results from the overlapping B 3Π 0u /+X 1Σ g /+ and 1Π1u X 1Σ g /+ electronic transitions. Vibronic bands originating from υ″=0 have been used to estimate the relative rate of non-radiative relaxation as a function of the excited state B 3Π0u vibrational quantum number υ′. A comparison with the optical absorption spectroscopy of Br2 leads to the identification of three broad spectral regions between 505 and 541 nm (19796 and 18480 cm−1) on the basis of different non-radiative relaxation processes.  相似文献

The decay of the extremely neutron-deficient isotope 45Fe has been studied by using a new type of gaseous detector in which a technique of optical imaging is used to record tracks of charged particles. The two-proton radioactivity and the $ \beta$ -decay channels were clearly identified. For the first time, the angular and energy correlations between two protons emitted from the 45Fe ground state were measured. The shell structure underlying shape changes in neutron-rich nuclei near N = 28 has been investigated by a novel application of the transient-field technique to measure the first-excited-state g factors in 38S and 40S produced as fast radioactive beams. There is a fine balance between proton and neutron contributions to the magnetic moments in both nuclei. The g factor of deformed 40S does not resemble that of a conventional collective nucleus because spin contributions are more important than usual.  相似文献

The decay of extremely neutron-deficient 45Fe has been studied in detail by means of a novel type of a gaseous detector employing digital imaging to record tracks of charged particles. The two-proton radioactivity channel was clearly identified. For the first time, the angular and energy correlations between two protons emitted from the nuclear ground state were determined, indicating the genuine three-body character of this decay. The half-life of 45Fe was found to be 2.6+/-0.2 ms and the observed 2p decay branching ratio is 70+/-4%.  相似文献

From the transport studies in the bilayer manganites LaSr2−x Ca x Mn2O7, we have found the variable-range hopping model proposed by Viret et al to be inadequate to describe the transport of charge in these materials. The polarons appear to hop to their nearest neighbors with an activation energy, which in part is dependent on the magnetic interactions in the lattice.  相似文献
