This paper is intended to clarify a misunderstanding concerningthe source singularity of the electric Green's tensor for aperfectly conducting semi-infinite cone of circular cross-section.Tai's series expansion of the Green's tensor is known to lacka singular term at the source region. Jones has reconstructedthe solution to this problem and has pointed out the differencebetween his result and that of Tai. The aim of our paper isto demonstrate that, although Jones's closed-form solution iscorrect, there is a mistake in his comparison with Tai's seriessolution. We conclude that one of the two additional singularterms that Jones claims as missing from Tai's formula must beomitted. Besides, we compare Jones's closed-form solution withSmyshlyaev's solution to the very same problem. We concludethat the magnetic field expressions given by Jones and Smyshlyaevcoincide, but a singular term is missing from Smyshlyaev's expressionfor the electric field. 相似文献

The 15O(α,α)15O elastic scattering is investigated using a 15O radioactive beam and a He gas cell limited by Mylar windows. The width of a 19Ne state at an excitation energy of 5.35MeV is measured as Γα = 3.2±1.6keV, in agreement with charge symmetry estimate. 相似文献

The scattering of incident plane elastic waves by a varietyof different defects that lie upon a fluid-solid interface isconsidered here using matched asymptotic expansions. The expansionscheme is developed in terms of a parameter , the ratio of typicaldefect length scale to a typical wavelength of the incidentfield, taken to be small. Three different canonical situations occur and these are illustratedvia three specific examples treated here: a rigid strut, anedge crack, and a rigid strip. In each case the leading-ordermatching is performed to identify the leading-order contributionof the defect to the acoustic field in the far field. In particular,each defect is identified with a source of dipole response ininterfacial stress of displacement. It is shown in the limit as s<<s1 that in the inner problemsthe fluid and solid pieces uncouple in a particularly convenientmanner allowing analytical solutions to be deduced. The 18F, produced during nova explosions, is the main responsible
for the 511 keV γ-ray emitted during the outburst that could be detected
with satellite missions or future γ-ray telescopes. In spite of many
experimental efforts, the amount of 18F synthesized still suffers from large
uncertainties concerning mainly the 18F(p,α)15O reaction. We report here on a new
direct measurement of the 18F(p,α)15O cross section recently carried out at the RIB
facility at Louvain-la-Neuve. Cross section data down to a center-of-mass
energy of 400 keV have been obtained using an isobarically pure 18F beam
(averaged intensity of the order of 106 pps) and a thin polyethylene
target. The reaction products were detected using the multi-strip detector
array LEDA. The cross section data are analysed in the framework of the
R-matrix model. Our main aim is to determine the interference sign between
three 3/2+ resonances above threshold that can significantly affect the
extrapolation of the 18F(p,α)15O cross section to the energies relevant for novae,
and thus, the modeling of nova explosions. 相似文献

Differential cross sections at 0° and 20° and polarizations at 20° have been measured for the 2H(α, n) αp reaction at Eα = 100 MeV and the 4He(d, n) αp reaction at Ed = 50 MeV. Data have been analyzed by the Modified Impulse Approximation (MIA). Satisfactory agreement was obtained but some discrepancy remained in the analysis of polarization data. 相似文献
