The magnetic properties of a tetragonal intermetallic compound, namely, HoMn2Ge2, are investigated experimentally and theoretically. The experimental temperature dependences of the initial magnetic susceptibility and the lattice parameters are obtained in alternating and static magnetic fields. The magnetization curves are measured in strong magnetic fields up to 50 T. The parameters of the crystal field and Ho-Mn and Mn-Mn exchange interactions are determined, and the temperature dependence of the magnetic field of the phase transition from an antiferromagnetic phase to a ferromagnetic phase in a magnetic field aligned along the tetragonal axis is calculated.  相似文献

Within an adjoint approach, the properties of the muon component in various types of rock and in water are calculated with allowance for fluctuations of energy losses in all muon-interaction processes. The behavior of the muon spectrum at sea level is established on the basis of a comparison of the muonabsorption curves obtained in this way and experimental data from underground facilities. It is shown that the deficit of the calculated muon flux obtained with the aid of data from direct measurements of the spectra of primary nuclei and Reggeon models of nuclear interactions is not less than 50% in the energy range 1–10 TeV.  相似文献

We have performed measurements of the magnetization and differential magnetic susceptibility of Dy0.62Y2.38Fe5O12 single crystals in pulsed magnetic fields up to 45 T at liquid-helium temperature for three orientations of the external field: H‖[100], H‖[110], and H‖[111]. It was found that the magnetization reversal in the rare-earth magnetic subsystem occurs via several phase transitions, whose number depends on the direction of the external field, as is characteristic for Ising magnets. The anomalies in the field dependences of the magnetization are interpreted on the assumption of quasi-Ising ordering of the rare-earth ions. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. The processes of interaction of accelerated protons with the surface of insulating capillaries have been investigated to determine the character of motion of particles during such interaction. The reasons why a deficit of the calculated muon flux for E μ ≳ 100 GeV arises if use is made of data from direct measurements of the spectra of primary cosmic rays and present-day nuclear-interaction models are considered. It is shown that this problem may stem from significantly underestimating the primary-nucleon flux in balloon-borne experiments employing the technique of emulsion chambers. This procedure relies on an extrapolation of accelerator data; therefore, it is necessary to estimate, on the basis of various Reggeon models of hadron interactions, the systematic error introduced by this circumstance in the results of the measurements. Such an analysis would make it possible to refine the behavior of the spectra of primary cosmic rays, to reduce the methodological part of the error in the calculation of the fluxes of secondary cosmic rays in the atmosphere, and to draw more precise conclusions on the flaws in present-day interaction models without invoking new accelerator data. The characteristics of longitudinal and radial extensive air shower development derived from the results of detection of the charged particle flux and Cherenkov light in extensive air showers at the Yakutsk array. To estimate the primary cosmic ray composition, a combination of the parameters Xmax and ρ600 and the database simulated using the CORSIKA code (QGSJET model) for showers generated by five types of nuclei (p, He, C, Si, Fe) in the energy range 1017–1019 eV were used. Application of the multicomponent method made it possible to divide the showers into three groups (p + He), C, and (Si + Fe) and estimate their percentage. The error in identifying nuclei in the energy range 1017–1018 eV does not exceed 30%.  相似文献
