Information media based on electron-donor oligomers

Routes for designing hole-conducting organic polymers for use in photoelectric solar-energy converters and light emitters and primarily for recording, storage, and processing of optical information are considered. New carbazole-containing radially tetrasubstituted silanes and germanes are described. It is shown that the information characteristics of holographic recording media based on oligomer compositions substantially depend on the shapes of the oligomer macromolecules.     

Block copolymers containing polyacrylamide and polyacrylic acid: Bulk structure and hydrogen bonds system

Asymmetric block copolymers PAAc-b-PAAm (DBCs) and PAAm-b-PAAc-b-PAAm (TBCs) comprised poly(acrylic acid) blocks of constant chain length and polyacrylamide blocks of variable chain length were synthesized using RAFT/MADIX technique. Their properties in a bulk state were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and the hydrogen bond system was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. It was found that DBCs and TBCs possess a homogeneous amorphous structure, whose temperatures of glass transition and destruction beginning increased with growth of PAAm block length. The H-bond system between PAAc and PAAm blocks was most developed in TBC sample and formed manly by the mixed cyclic dimmers of carboxyl and amide groups.

Peculiarities of holographic media based on electron donor oligomers of linear and radial structures

The information properties of holographic recording media for photothermoplastic recording with films of oligomer composites based on carbazolyl-containing linear and star co-oligomers with branching centers on silicon and germanium atoms have been studied. The media based on the star oligomers possess higher holographic sensitivity due to greater plasticity and ability to accumulate space electrical charge during exposure. The buildup of space electrical charge results from the capture of photogenerated holes by energy traps created by dimers formed from terminal carbazolyl groups, whose amount is larger in macromolecules of radial oligomers than in linear oligomers.     

Scattering of electromagnetic radiation by surfaces with a fractal relief

The scattering indicatrix of electromagnetic waves for different types of rough surfaces and angles of incidence is calculated using the Kirchhoff scalar theory. The rough surfaces are modelled by a two dimensional Weierstrass function. The scattering index for a rough surface with a fractal relief is found to have a complicated structure with intensity bursts in directions quite far from the direction of mirror reflection.     

Synthesis of 1, 10-dec anedicarboxylic acid from cyclododecatriene-1,5,9

Summary A simple synthesis of 1,10-decanedicarboxylic acid has been developed, starting from cyclododecatriene-1,5,9.     

Synthesis of ethylideneβ-keto esters and a study of their NMR spectra
