Investigating the optical properties of a near-surface layer in silicon implanted by zinc after thermal annealing

Changes in the optical properties of a Si layer broken as a result of implantation by Zn ions are investigated during thermal annealing. The investigations are performed by Raman scattering (RS), ellipsometry, and cathodoluminescence (CL). The implanted samples show a broken area with a thickness of about 60 nm with partial amorphization. Thermal treatment at 400°C results in the partial annealing of a radiation point defect while reducing the thickness of the broken layer to 40 nm. The broken layer was completely restored after high-temperature annealing at 700°C.     

Electromagnetic dissociation of relativistic 8B nuclei in nuclear track emulsion

Experimental data on fragmentation channels in peripheral interactions of ⁸B nuclei in nuclear track emulsions are presented. A detailed analysis made it possible to justify selections of events of the electromagnetic-dissociation process ⁸B → ⁷Be + p and to estimate its cross section. Events of ¹⁰C peripheral dissociation that were observed in the same exposure are described.     

Coherent dissociation of relativistic 9C nuclei

Results on the coherent dissociation of relativistic ⁹C nuclei in a nuclear track emulsion are described. These results include the charge topology and kinematical features of final states. Events of ⁹C → 3³He coherent dissociation are identified.

Photoluminescence Properties of Thin-Film Nanohybrid Material Based on Quantum Dots and Gold Nanorods

The dynamics of coherent propagation of a unipolar subcycle pulse of a large electric-field area (the integral of the electric-field strength with respect to time) in a nonlinear two-level resonant medium is studied theoretically. The propagating pulse is shown to be capable of splitting into a pair of individual components, each of which behaves like a pulse of self-induced transparency. This phenomenon is similar to the well-known phenomenon of splitting of a 4π or 6π pulse into a pair of 2π pulses of self-induced transparency, which occurs in the case of propagation of long pulses, when the notion of the pulse area is applicable and the area theorem holds.

Dissociation of 10C nuclei in a track nuclear emulsion at an energy of 1.2 GeV per nucleon

The charge topology in the fragmentation of ¹⁰C nuclei in a track nuclear emulsion at an energy of 1.2 GeV per nucleon is studied. In the coherent dissociation of ¹⁰C nuclei, about 82% of events are associated with the channel ¹⁰C → 2α+ 2p. The angular distributions and correlations of product fragments are presented for this channel. It is found that among ¹⁰C → 2α+ 2p events, about 30% are associated with the process in which dissociation through the ground state of the unstable ⁹Be_g.s. nucleus is followed by ⁸Be_g.s. + p decays.
