An energy-dependent partitioning scheme is explored for extracting a small number of eigenvalues of a real symmetric matrix with the help of genetic algorithm. The proposed method is tested with matrices of different sizes (30 × 30 to 1000 × 1000). Comparison is made with Löwdin’s strategy for solving the problem. The fluorescence lifetimes decays and picosecond time-resolved fluorescence spectra were measured to investigate the dynamics of the excited state of sulforhodamine B (SRB) molecules adsorbed in the mono- and multilayered Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of octadecylamine. Steady-state and time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy reveals that the fluorescence lifetimes and contents of the monomer and dimers in the molecular organizates depend upon the concentration of the dye in the solution and the adsorption process. SRB dye molecules adsorbed in LB films have been imaged with scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM). This information is exploited to map the distribution with molecular spatial resolution. SNOM provide the visual evidence of the monomers and dimers of SRB in cationic LB films.  相似文献

A cis-proline derived cyclic mimic of a type VI beta-turn is synthesized via a ring-closing metathesis reaction. The solution NMR conformational study indicates that the major conformer of the cyclic peptide adopts a type VIa beta-turn in CDCl(3) and a type VIb beta-turn in DMSO-d(6).  相似文献

A novel chemo- and diastereoselective aerobic epoxidation of the N-cinnamoyl peptides catalyzed by polyaniline-supported cobalt(II) salen (PASCOS) is described. The N-cinnamoyl proline derived peptides 1 show a high pi-facial selectivity during these epoxidations. The origin of this diastereoselectivity in 1 has been attributed to (i) the propensity of the N-cinnamoyl proline amide to exist predominantly as trans rotamer in CDCl3, DMSO-d6, and CH3CN medium and (ii) existence of these peptides as organized structures (gamma- and beta-turns) due to the presence of intramolecular hydrogen bonds. An extensive solution NMR and MD simulation study on 1d and 1f indicates that the origin of the high pi-facial selectivity is due to the well-defined gamma- and beta-turns which result in the hindrance of one face of the cinnamoyl double bond in the transition state of the epoxidation reaction.  相似文献

Nucleotide composition and distribution along a DNA sequence is known to play a vital role in the determination of gene functions. Protein coding regions, regulatory sequences, and other functional regions are determined generally by homology studies with comparable genes from other species or specific experimental verification. With the rapid and explosive increase in sequence information, new computational techniques for rapid determination of such information and comparative studies of different genes are becoming necessary which ideally should encompass not only DNA sequences but other macromolecular sequences as well.  相似文献

Metal-Enhanced Fluorescence (MEF) has become an important method in biomedical sensing. In this paper, we present the distance-dependent MEF of sulforhodamine B (SRB) monolayer on silver island films (SIFs). SRB is electrostatically incorporated into the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) layers of octadecylamine (ODA) deposited on glass and SIFs substrates. The distances between SRB and SIFs or glass surfaces are controlled by depositing a varied number of inert stearic acid (SA) spacer layers. SRB is incorporated into positively charged LB layers of ODA by immersing the ODA deposited substrates into aqueous solution of SRB. Dye incorporated ODA layers with 10 nm separation distance from the SIFs surface show maximum metal-enhanced fluorescence intensity; ~7-fold increase in intensity as compared to that from the glass surface. The corresponding enhancement factor is reduced with increasing or decreasing the probe distance from the SIFs surface. Additionally, SRB on SIF surfaces show reduced lifetimes. We observed the shortest lifetime from the SRB with 5 nm distance from the SIF surfaces and the lifetime increased consistently with increasing the distances between the fluorophore and the SIFs surface. These observed spectral changes, increase in fluorescence intensity and decreased fluorescence lifetimes, are in accordance with the expected effects due to near-field interactions between the silver nanoparticles and fluorophores. We have also analyzed the complex fluorescence heterogeneous decays on metallic nanostructured surfaces using continuous distributions of decay times. The decay-time distributions appear to be sensitive to the distance between the metal and fluorophore and represent the underlying heterogeneity of the samples. The present systematic study provides significant information on the effect of fluorophore distance on the metal-enhanced fluorescence phenomenon.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The present work describes a phenomenological approach to explain the instantaneous behaviour of tungsten heavy alloys (WHAs) in heat-treated and swaged conditions. The strengths and elongation values of heat-treated materials are lower and higher than those of the swaged samples respectively. The heat-treated materials exhibit two slopes in true stress–true plastic strain curves and follow the Ludwigson constitutive equation. On the other hand, swaged materials display a single slope and adhere to typical Swift constitutive equation. The latter reflect the presence of pre-strain in the materials due to swaging deformation. The fracture surfaces in heat-treated materials consist of W-W decohesion along with matrix rupture and W-cleavage, while swaged samples consist of mainly W-cleavage. Both the materials display three typical stages (I, II and III) of work hardening. The second derivatives of true stress–true plastic strain curves of these alloys exhibit a perfect parabola although the nature of true stress–true strain as well as true stress–true plastic strain curves is quite different in heat-treated and swaged materials. This has been observed for the first time in WHAs consisting of matrix and W-grains. The shape of the parabola is simple and easy to fit. The fitting parameters of parabolas have been successfully employed to explain the flow behaviour of a large number of tungsten heavy alloys having two-phase microstructure in different processing conditions.  相似文献
