The g, h, and k Dalitz plot parameters, which are coefficients in a series expansion of the squared module of the matrix element |M(u, v)|2 ∝ 1 + gu + hu 2 + kv 2 (u, v are invariant variables), have been measured for K ± → π±π 0π0 decays using 35 GeV/c hadron beams at the IHEP (Protvino) accelerator. Dependences of parameters and fit quality on the π0π0 mass cut were investigated for the first time. It is shown that the expansion mentioned above does not fit the experimental data near the π+π? mass threshold and that addition of the cubic terms only slightly improves the fit quality. This result indicates the important role of nonanalytical terms in the matrix element that are connected with pion rescattering. A comparison of our data with previous measurements is presented.  相似文献

The characteristics of scintillation counters measured in a 90-MeV proton beam have been presented. Two-meter long scintillators BC-404 and BC-408, which were viewed from both ends with photoelectron multipliers R1828-01 (PMT) have been used. Both the amplitude and time distributions of the PMT signals are well described by the Gaussian function. It turned out that the amplitude resolution σ(А)/А weakly depends on the type of scintillator and the proton position along the counter, and lies in the interval between 4 and 5%. The best time resolution σ(T) is about 50 ps near the counter ends and 63 ps at the center.  相似文献

K ±e ± νπ 0 decays have been studied using the KMN setup at the Institute for High Energy Physics (Protvino). The experiment has been performed in the 36-GeV/c hadron beams of the IHEP accelerator. The accumulated data allow us to select ~1.08M candidates for K e3 decays. Analyzing the Dalitz plot of these events, we estimate the linear slope of the charge form factor to be λ + = [30.44 ± 0.83(stat.) ± 0.74(syst.)] × 10?3.  相似文献

The results are presented for the charge asymmetry of the Dalitz plot parameters g, h, and k measured for K ±π ± π 0 π 0 decays. The experiment has been carried out in the 35-GeV/c kaon beams at the IHEP accelerator. The g, h, and k parameters appear to be identical for K + and K ? decays within the experimental uncertainty. In particular, a value of (0.2 ± 1.9) × 10?3 is obtained for the charge asymmetry A g = (g + ? g ?)/(g + + g ?) of the Dalitz plot slope.  相似文献

We explore the multiscale properties of the line-of-sight component of Solar magnetic fields using magnetograms of the full disc obtained from the Michelson Doppler Imager (MDI) on board the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). Multifractal spectra are estimated by different methods, based on the Choquet capacity, instead of the traditional Borel measure. We have extracted spectra corresponding to active regions (AR) as well as those from quiet regions of the Sun. The shapes of spectra of active regions and those of quiet regions of the Sun are different, displaying different lengths of left-hand and right-hand branches. We indicate that multifractal scaling of magnetograms can be produced by a set of statistically similar elements in digital high resolution images. The same features are found in images of many terrestrial scenes.  相似文献

In this work, the results of the measurements of characteristics of 40-cm and 2-m scintillation counters irradiated by a particle beam with a momentum of 7 GeV/c from the accelerator of the Institute for High Energy Physics are presented. The scintillators used in counters are BC-404 and BC-408 scintillators. The counters are viewed from both ends by R1828-01 photomultiplier tubes. The PMT signal spectra are well described by a convolution of the Landau and Gaussian distributions. Their width is determined mainly by fluctuations of ionization energy losses. The time distributions of the signals obey the Gaussian law. For the 40-cm counter, the time resolution is σ(T) = 88 ps; for the 2-m counter, it varies from 120–160 ps in its center to ~100 ps near the end.  相似文献

Elastic-scattering data were analyzed, and it was concluded on the basis of this analysis that precisionmeasurements of differential cross sections for elastic proton–proton scattering at the accelerator of the Institute for High Energy Physics (IHEP, Protvino, Russia) over a broad momentum-transfer range are of importance and topical interest. The layout of the respective experimental facility detecting the scattered particle and recoil proton and possessing a high momentum-transfer resolution was examined along with the equipment constituting this facility. The facility in question is able to record up to a billion events of elastic proton–proton scattering per IHEP accelerator run (20 days). Other lines of physics research with this facility are briefly discussed.  相似文献
