The preparation and properties of “porous silicon–nickel ferrite” nanoheterocomposites for gas detectors

This paper discusses the preparation and properties of gas detectors based on “porous silicon–nickel ferrite” nanocomposites. Impedance spectroscopy was used to measure sensitivity to ethanol and isopropanol vapours in the presence of an alternating electric field. The results were interpreted with the help of an equivalent electrical circuit. In the analysis of the resistive–capacitive properties in the equivalent circuit a constant phase element was used.     

Synthesis of macrocyclic tris-cis-tris-trans- dodeca[(phenyl)(hydroxy)]cyclododecasiloxane in carbonic acid solution

The possibility to synthesize stereoregular tris-cis-tris-trans- dodeca[(phenyl)(hydroxy)]cyclododecasiloxane (tris-cis-tris-trans-[PhSi(O)OH]12) in an inorganic liquid medium – aqueous carbonic acid solution – was shown. The interaction of polyhedral phenylcoppersodiumsiloxane, {[(C₆H₅Si(O)O^?]₁₂(Cu₂⁺)₄(Na⁺)₄}*(L)_m (L?=?Buⁿ OH, H₂O), with carbonic acid can be considered as a new ‘green’ method to obtain functional organosiloxane macrocycles. In contrast to the known methods, no organic solvents were used during the reaction. The identification of the structure of the end compound was performed by means of NMR and Infrared spectroscopy as well as X-ray crystallography.     

Ion-exchange sorption of silver(I) chloride complexes from aqueous HCl solutions

The ion-exchange sorption of silver(I) chloride complexes from 1–4 M aqueous solutions of HCl on a series of Purolite anionites with various functional groups was studied. The ion-exchange equilibria in the systems were found to be anomalous according to Raman spectroscopy, which does not significantly affect the sorption properties of the ionites.

Phase equilibria in the Ba2Na3[B3O6]2F-BaF2 system

The phase equilibria in the Ba₂Na₃[B₃O₆]₂F-BaF₂ section, which belongs to the ternary mutual Ba, Na//BO₂,F system, have been studied by the methods of solid-phase synthesis, visual polythermal analysis, and differential-thermal analyses. It is shown that this section can be used to grow bulk Ba₂Na₃[B₃O₆]₂F crystals.

Phase formation in the BaB<Subscript>2</Subscript>O<Subscript>4</Subscript>-NaBO<Subscript>2</Subscript>-MBO<Subscript>3</Subscript> (M = Sc,La, Y) system and new orthoborate ScBaNa(BO<Subscript>3</Subscript>)<Subscript>2</Subscript>

Phase formation in the BaB₂O₄-NaBO₂-MBO₃ (M = Sc, La, Y) system was studied using solid-phase synthesis, visual polythermal analysis, and spontaneous crystallization. This system was shown to be suitable for growing LaBO₃. A new compound, ScBaNa(BO₃)₂, was obtained (trigonal crystal system; space group R \(\bar 3\) unit cell parameters: a = 5.239(1) Å, c = 34.591(1) Å, and V = 822.38(4) ų).
