Direct mechanical force is used to create a temporary shape in shape memory polymers. This can become difficult in situations where the sample is not directly accessible such as interior in the body. In these cases it is not possible to use a direct mechanical force to deform the sample into temporary shape; therefore other alternative routes should be proposed. The magnetic force is a good candidate for inducing remote deformation. The ability of magnetic field to cause deformation in soft matters has already been revealed. To prove the hypothesis of using magnetic force to create temporary shape, magnetic field active shape memory polymeric nanocomposites were manufactured by incorporation of NdFeB ferromagnetic micro particles in a nanocomposite based on crosslinked low density polyethylene loaded with 2 wt.% of organoclay. The results indicate that as the NdFeB content increases, the reversible temporary deformation induced in the samples by the magnetic force increases. The effect of NdFeB concentration on the shape recovery progress and the possibility of heat induction in NdFeB filled samples through the application of an alternating magnetic field were also examined.  相似文献

Polyvinyl alcohol nanoporous nanocomposite hydrogels containing various levels of Na-montmorillonite were prepared by a cyclic freezing–thawing technique. An exfoliated morphology of silicate layers was observed for the nanocomposite hydrogels. The uniaxial tensile test indicated that the tensile modulus and tensile strength of the nanocomposite hydrogels increased with increasing Na-montmorillonite content, while their elongation-at-break values decreased. The results showed that by adding 15 wt% of montmorillonite to polyvinyl alcohol hydrogels, the molecular weight of polymer chains between two adjacent cross-links decreased to 56% and the effective cross-linking density increased up to 353%. It is also indicated that all nanocomposite hydrogel samples had nanoscale pore diameters and network mesh sizes less than 30 nm. The nanoporous structure of the nanocomposite hydrogels was confirmed by transmission electron microscopy observations and mercury intrusion porosimetry tests.  相似文献

Physically crosslinked nanocomposite hydrogels based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) containing Na-montmorillonite were prepared by the cyclic freezing–thawing method. The primarily exfoliated morphology of prepared nanocomposite hydrogels was confirmed by X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) as complementary techniques. It is shown that some interactions developed between the hydroxyl groups of PVA chains and Na-montmorillonite silicate layers in the nanocomposite hydrogels. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) results indicated some shifting in the glass transition temperature of the PVA hydrogel in the presence of the nanoclay. Swelling measurements showed that the swelling ratios of the nanocomposite hydrogels were increased either by decreasing the Na-montmorillonite content or by increasing the swelling medium temperature. Dynamic mechanical–thermal properties results showed higher storage modulus for nanocomposite hydrogels in temperature ranges both below and above 0°C. It was also found that the hardness of the nanocomposite hydrogels increased by increasing the nanoclay loading level.  相似文献

In this paper a modal coupling procedure is developed to improve residual modal effects based on experimentally generated data. While showing that Craig–Chang's proposed approximation function for higher frequency modes does not compare well with the exact function, a new procedure is developed in order to re-express the dynamic residuals. For this purpose, all frequency dependent terms of the Maclaurin series in Craig–Chang's proposed method are replaced by a general compatible function, which includes the neglected higher order terms. However, this function no longer appears in final equation of motion. Results from case studies for the discrete, continuous and experimental models are presented to verify the procedure and to show the capabilities of the proposed method.  相似文献

In this work, we consider rotating BTZ black hole in three dimensions which is dual of one dimensional holographic superconductors. We applied higher order corrections of the entropy, which interpreted as quantum corrections, to the thermodynamics quantities and study modified thermodynamics. We investigate stability of rotating BTZ black hole under effects of higher order quantum corrections, and find that they affect stability of black hole. So, the small black hole has some instabilities and critical points due to the quantum effects. We also study effect of correction terms on the dual picture of rotating BTZ black hole.  相似文献

High density polyethylene nanocomposites loaded with a reinforcing filler (Cloisite 20A as a modified nanoclay) and an electrically conductive filler (Cu nanoparticles) were prepared by a melt blending method. The morphological, mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of the prepared nanocomposites were investigated to evaluate their performances as appropriate materials for production of reinforced conductive polymeric pipes to be used in natural gas distribution and transportation pipelines. A random and uniform dispersion of both nanoparticles in the polyethylene matrix, with a nanoclay intercalated morphology, was observed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction techniques. The results revealed ca. 117, 13 and 21% increases in the Young’s modulus, tensile strength and yield stress of the polyethylene matrix by adding 3 wt.% of Cloisite 20A into it. For the similar conditions, however, more than a 71% decrease was observed for the elongation at break. Thermal analysis demonstrated that the melting points of the nanocomposites were increased by incorporating both fillers and the crystallinity of polyethylene chains was decreased by incorporating Cloisite 20A and then slightly increased by adding Cu nanoparticles. Moreover, the results revealed the creation of conductivity inside the non-conductive polyethylene matrix due to the presence of the conductive Cu nanoparticles.  相似文献

Polymer gels as soft biomaterials have found diverse applications in biomedical field, e.g. in management and care of wound as wound dressing.The recent researches on nanocomposite materials have shown that some properties of polymers and gels significantly improve by adding organoclay into polymeric matrix. In this work, in order to obtain wound dressing with better properties, nanocomposite hydrogel wound dressing was prepared using combination of polyvinyl alcohol hydogel and organoclay, i.e. Na-montmorillonite, via the freezing-thawing method. The effect of organoclay quantity on the structural, swelling, physical and mechanical properties of nanocomposite hydrogel wound dressing was investigated. The results showed that the nanocomposite hydrogels could meet the essential requirements for the reasonable wound dressing with some desirable characteristics such as relatively good swelling, appreciated vapour transmission rate, excellent barrierity against microbe penetration and mechanical properties. The results also indicated that the quantity of the clay added to the nanocomposite hydrogel is the key factor in obtaining such suitable properties required for wound dressing.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider higher order corrections of the entropy, which coming from thermal fluctuations, and find their effect on the thermodynamics of higher dimensional charged black holes. Leading order thermal fluctuation is logarithmic term in the entropy while higher order correction is proportional to the inverse of original entropy. We calculate some thermodynamics quantities and obtain the effect of logarithmic and higher order corrections of entropy on them. Validity of the first law of thermodynamics investigated and Van der Waals equation of state of dual picture studied. We find that five-dimensional black hole behaves as Van der Waals, but higher dimensional case have not such behavior. We find that thermal fluctuations are important in stability of black hole hence affect unstable/stable black hole phase transition.  相似文献
