The molecular dynamics of new poly (ω‐dodecalactam‐co‐ε‐caprolactam‐co‐propylene oxide) copolymers (DL/CL/PAC) has been investigated by using dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) and dielectric relaxation spectroscopy (DRS) measurements. The copolymers were synthesized via anionic polymerization of relevant lactams activated with carbamoyl derivatives of telechelic hydroxyl terminated polypropylene oxide with isophorone diisocyanate (PAC). The calorimetric, X‐ray diffraction, and DMTA measurements were performed to recognize the influence of the composition ratio and the type of PAC on the physical, thermal, and mechanical properties of the synthesized copolymers. The DRS was used to study the frequency dependence of the dielectric permittivity of some isotherms from ?110 to 145 °C. Copolymerization of ε‐caprolactam with about 10 wt % ω‐dodecalactam results in a copolymer that has lower water absorption, a melting point close to that of polyamide 6 and has a high enough degree of crystallinity in respect to high storage modulus. Five dielectric relaxations have been observed in the dielectric spectra, three at lower temperature and two at higher temperature. The copolymers have two glass transition temperatures for polyamide segments and polyether blocks, indicating microphase separation in the copolymers. Other studies directed toward molecular dynamics of polyamide DL/CL/PAC copolymers have not been reported. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys, 2010  相似文献

We report the preparation and investigation of charged colloidal Co2+:ZnO and Mn2+:ZnO nanocrystals. Although both charged and magnetically doped colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals have been reported previously, colloidal charged and magnetically doped semiconductor nanocrystals as described herein have not. Conduction band electrons were introduced into colloidal ZnO diluted magnetic semiconductor (DMS) nanocrystals photochemically, and the resulting TM2+-e-CB interactions were observed by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy (TM2+ = Co2+ or Mn2+). This new motif of colloidal charged magnetic semiconductor nanocrystals reveals attractive new opportunities for studying spin effects in DMS nanostructures relevant to proposed spintronics technologies.  相似文献

Colloidal reduced ZnO nanocrystals are potent reductants for one-electron or multielectron redox chemistry, with reduction potentials tunable via the quantum confinement effect. Other methods for tuning the redox potentials of these unusual reagents are desired. Here, we describe synthesis and characterization of a series of colloidal Zn(1-x)Mg(x)O and Zn(0.98-x)Mg(x)Mn(0.02)O nanocrystals in which Mg(2+) substitution is used to tune the nanocrystal reduction potential. The effect of Mg(2+) doping on the band-edge potentials of ZnO was investigated using electronic absorption, photoluminescence, and magnetic circular dichroism spectroscopies. Mg(2+) incorporation widens the ZnO gap by raising the conduction-band potential and lowering the valence-band potential at a ratio of 0.68:0.32. Mg(2+) substitution is far more effective than Zn(2+) removal in raising the conduction-band potential and allows better reductants to be prepared from Zn(1-x)Mg(x)O nanocrystals than can be achieved via quantum confinement of ZnO nanocrystals. The increased conduction-band potentials of Zn(1-x)Mg(x)O nanocrystals compared to ZnO nanocrystals are confirmed by demonstration of spontaneous electron transfer from n-type Zn(1-x)Mg(x)O nanocrystals to smaller (more strongly quantum confined) ZnO nanocrystals.  相似文献

The hypothesis that high-Curie-temperature ferromagnetism in cobalt-doped ZnO (Co2+: ZnO) is mediated by charge carriers was tested by controlled introduction and removal of the shallow donor interstitial zinc. Using oriented epitaxial Co2+: ZnO films grown by chemical vapor deposition, kinetics measurements demonstrate a direct correlation between the oxidative quenching of ferromagnetism and the diffusion and oxidation of interstitial zinc. These results demonstrate controlled systematic variation of a key parameter involved in the ferromagnetism of Co2+: ZnO and, in the process, unambiguously reveal this ferromagnetism to be dependent upon charge carriers. The distinction between defect-bound and free carriers in Co2+: ZnO is discussed.  相似文献

Conduction band electrons in colloidal ZnO quantum dots have been prepared photochemically and examined by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. Nanocrystals of 4.6 nm diameter containing single S-shell conduction band electrons have g(*)=1.962 and a room-temperature ensemble spin-dephasing time of T(2)(*)=25 ns, as determined from linewidth analysis. Increasing the electron population leads to increased g(*) and decreased T(2)(*), both associated with formation of P-shell configurations. A clear relationship between T(2)(*) and hyperfine coupling with 67Zn(I=5/2) is observed.  相似文献

Often the rate of passage of gaseous molecules through model zeolites is too small to be computed directly. An estimate for the rate of passage of CCl4 through the 8-ring window in a model of zeolite A has been obtained by combining a direct evaluation of the free energy profile and an adaptation of the rare events method. First the free energy profile is found from a direct evaluation of the canonical partition function at high dilution and the transition state theory rate constant obtained. The dynamic correction factor is then estimated from molecular dynamics runs and used to compute the actual rate keff. The method is used to estimate the rate of passage through the 8-ring window in a rigid model of zeolite A, and the results are compared with those obtained from rigid models with expanded windows and from the flexible model. Even a small expansion in the 8-ring window diameter increases the rate significantly, but the changes associated with a flexible cage are small.  相似文献

This work illustrates a simple approach for optimizing long-lived near-infrared lanthanide-centered luminescence using trivalent chromium chromophores as sensitizers. Reactions of the segmental ligand L2 with stoichiometric amounts of M(CF(3)SO(3))(2) (M = Cr, Zn) and Ln(CF(3)SO(3))(3) (Ln = Nd, Er, Yb) under aerobic conditions quantitatively yield the D(3)-symmetrical trinuclear [MLnM(L2)(3)](CF(3)SO(3))(n) complexes (M = Zn, n = 7; M = Cr, n = 9), in which the central lanthanide activator is sandwiched between the two transition metal cations. Visible or NIR irradiation of the peripheral Cr(III) chromophores in [CrLnCr(L2)(3)](9+) induces rate-limiting intramolecular intermetallic Cr→Ln energy transfer processes (Ln = Nd, Er, Yb), which eventually produces lanthanide-centered near-infrared (NIR) or IR emission with apparent lifetimes within the millisecond range. As compared to the parent dinuclear complexes [CrLn(L1)(3)](6+), the connection of a second strong-field [CrN(6)] sensitizer in [CrLnCr(L2)(3)](9+) significantly enhances the emission intensity without perturbing the kinetic regime. This work opens novel exciting photophysical perspectives via the buildup of non-negligible population densities for the long-lived doubly excited state [Cr*LnCr*(L2)(3)](9+) under reasonable pumping powers.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of colloidal Mn(2+)-doped ZnO (Mn(2+):ZnO) quantum dots and the preparation of room-temperature ferromagnetic nanocrystalline thin films. Mn(2+):ZnO nanocrystals were prepared by a hydrolysis and condensation reaction in DMSO under atmospheric conditions. Synthesis was monitored by electronic absorption and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopies. Zn(OAc)(2) was found to strongly inhibit oxidation of Mn(2+) by O(2), allowing the synthesis of Mn(2+):ZnO to be performed aerobically. Mn(2+) ions were removed from the surfaces of as-prepared nanocrystals using dodecylamine to yield high-quality internally doped Mn(2+):ZnO colloids of nearly spherical shape and uniform diameter (6.1 +/- 0.7 nm). Simulations of the highly resolved X- and Q-band nanocrystal EPR spectra, combined with quantitative analysis of magnetic susceptibilities, confirmed that the manganese is substitutionally incorporated into the ZnO nanocrystals as Mn(2+) with very homogeneous speciation, differing from bulk Mn(2+):ZnO only in the magnitude of D-strain. Robust ferromagnetism was observed in spin-coated thin films of the nanocrystals, with 300 K saturation moments as large as 1.35 micro(B)/Mn(2+) and T(C) > 350 K. A distinct ferromagnetic resonance signal was observed in the EPR spectra of the ferromagnetic films. The occurrence of ferromagnetism in Mn(2+):ZnO and its dependence on synthetic variables are discussed in the context of these and previous theoretical and experimental results.  相似文献
