Multiparameter Polynomial Adaptive Stabilizers

In 1983 Morse proved, for unknown scalar one-dimensional linearsystems, the nonexistence of rational or polynomial universalstabilizers (UAS). In 1983, Nussbaum gave an example of an analyticUAS. In our paper, it is shown that there exist time-invariantpolynomial UAS's with multidimensional gain adaptation. Thedesign procedure is developed for linear, minimum-phase systemsof relative degree one. Convergence of the closed-loop systemis proved. Some numerical simulations are provided.     

A new ent-labdane eiterpenoid lactone from Andrographis paniculata

A new ent-labdane diterpenoid lactone with a new natural product was isolated from Andrographis paniculata. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral evidences including 2D NMR.     

The nu(CO) vibrational spectra of planar transition metal carbonyl clusters

The nu(CO) vibrational spectra of planar transition cluster carbonyls containing M(CO)(4) groups are studied. It is possible to anticipate qualitatively, both for the infrared and Raman, the band intensity changes associated with increasing metallic nature of the cluster. These enable a unification of the band patterns shown by the species reported. As for (idealized) spherical clusters, the spherical harmonic model (SHM), suitably modified, becomes of more general applicability as cluster size increases, although for smaller species the tensor harmonic model (THM) makes a contribution.     

Application of the Spherical Harmonic Model to the ν(CO) Vibrational Spectra of Some Fe(CO)4 and M(CO)5 (M=Cr, W) Transition Metal Cluster Carbonyl Species

When the Fe(CO)₄ and M(CO)₅ (M=Cr, W) groups are co-ordinated in C_3v and C_4v fashion, respectively, in transition metal carbonyl cluster species they contain two sets of non-symmetry related carbonyl groups. In the application of the spherical harmonic model (SHM) to the interpretation of the infrared spectra of these compounds it proves necessary first to treat these as for a normal, isolated, M(CO)₄ or M(CO)₅ group and then apply the SHM. This recognition gives insights into the general application of the SHM.     

KARMEN time anomaly: search for a neutral particle of mass 33.9 MeV in pion decay

We have searched for the pion decay pi(+)-->&mgr;+X, where X is a neutral particle of mass 33.905 MeV. This process was suggested by the KARMEN Collaboration to explain an anomaly in their observed time distribution of neutrino induced reactions. Having measured the muon momentum spectrum of charged pions decaying in flight, we find no evidence for this process and place an upper limit on the branching fraction eta相似文献

Microwave-assisted one-pot synthesis of 3-substituted-3,4-dihydrocoumarins via tendem Konevenagel and Hantzsch reactions

A convenient route for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydrocoumarin derivates from salicylaldehyde derivates and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds under solvent-free microwave irradiation conditions was described. In this way, a range of compounds was obtained in moderate to good yields in a short reaction time.     

Self-injection length in La0.7Ca0.3MnO3-YBa2Cu3O7-δ ferromagnet-superconductor multilayer thin films

We have carried out extensive studies on the self-injection problem in barrierless heterojunctions between La_0.7Ca_0.3MnO₃ (LCMO) and YBa₂Cu₃O_7-δ (YBCO) thin films. The heterojunctions were formed in situ by sequentially growing LCMO and YBCO films on 〈100〉 LaAlO₃ (LAO) substrate using a pulsed laser deposition (PLD) system. YBCO micro-bridges with 64 μm width were patterned both on the LAO (control) and LCMO side of the substrate. Critical current, I _c, was measured at 77 K on both the control side as well as the LCMO side for different YBCO film thickness. It was observed that while the control side showed a J _c of ∼ 2 × 10⁶ A/cm², the LCMO side showed about half the value for the same thickness (1800 ?). The difference in J _c indicates that a certain thickness of YBCO has become ‘effectively’ normal due to self-injection. From the measurement of J _c at two different thicknesses (1800 ? and 1500 ?) of YBCO films both on the LAO as well as the LCMO side, the value of self-injection length (at 77 K) was estimated to be ∼ 900 ?. To the authors’ best knowledge, this is the first time that self-injection length has been quantified. A control experiment carried out with LaNiO₃ deposited by PLD on YBCO did not show any evidence of self-injection.     

Gas-phase structures of 1-adamantylphosphines,PH<Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Subscript>(1-Ad)<Subscript>3−<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis></Subscript> (<Emphasis Type="Italic">n</Emphasis> = 1–3)

The gas-phase structure of 1-adamantylphosphine has been determined by electron diffraction, supplemented with data from ab initio and DFT calculations. The adamantyl fragment was modeled with local C _3v symmetry and the phosphino group was found to be in a position almost bisecting a mirror plane of the adamantyl group, giving the molecule overall approximate C _s symmetry. There is a small displacement of the C–P bond from the local threefold axis of the adamantyl group. Geometry optimizations were also performed for bis-(1-adamantyl)phosphine (C ₁ point-group symmetry) and tris-(1-adamantyl)phosphine (C ₃ symmetry), demonstrating extremely crowded environments around the phosphorus atoms leading to adamantyl groups that were much less symmetric. The adamantyl groups were also found to twist by a significant amount to minimize the strain.
