The anion sequence in the phase transformation of mesostructures templated by non-ionic block copolymers

A p6m to Ia3d mesophase evolution is achieved by simply adjusting the acidity and/or anion species in the presence of block copolymers; the unusual anion sequence that affects the phase behavior of block copolymer templated mesostructured solids is revealed to be SO(4)(2-)(HSO(4)(-)) > NO(3)(-) > Br(-) > Cl(-).     

A direct quantitative analysis method for monitoring biogenic volatile organic compounds released from leaves of Pelargonium hortorum in situ

A direct quantitative method is presented that is based upon the use of multiple headspace solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) to monitor biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) released from a living leaf of Pelargonium hortorum in situ. Seventeen BVOCs were detected by GC-MS after a single SPME extraction using a CAR/DVB/PDMS fibre. An internal standard was employed to determine the absolute amounts of seven terpenoid compounds released from a P. hortorum leaf. The quantitative analysis was performed over two days, with extraction preformed for 20 min every 3 h. The amount of volatiles extracted varied with the time of day, with two maxima recorded at 14:00 (day 1) and 17:00 (day 2), corresponding to 236 and 277 ng of the seven terpenoids recorded, respectively. These results indicate that multiple HS-SPME in combination with an internal standard is a simple, quick, and quantitative technique for analysising BVOC emissions from a live plant sample.

On the Kernel of Restriction of Characters*

Let G be a finite group, H be a proper subgroup of G, and S be a unitary subring of C. The kernel of the restriction map S[Irr(G)] → S[Irr(H)] as a ring homomorphism is studied. As a corollary, the main result in [Isaacs, I. M. and Navarro, G., Injective restriction of characters, Arch. Math., 108, 2017, 437–439] is reproved.     

PMTFP与中性磷萃取剂对钇(Ⅲ)的协同萃取

本文用萃取法测定了(Ⅰ)Y(Ⅲ)/0.5MNaClO_4/PMTFP—C_6H_6和(Ⅱ)Y(Ⅲ)/0.5MNaClO_4/PMTFP—TBP—C_6H_6及(Ⅲ)Y(Ⅲ)/0.5MNaClO_4/PMTFP—TOPO—C_6H_6体系的萃取平衡常数和协苹平衡常数,结果如下: 体系(Ⅰ)的1gK3_(30)=-3.36;体系(Ⅱ)的1gK_(32)=4.47; 体系(Ⅲ)的1gK_(31)=6.65、1gK_(32)=9.08。     

Synthesis of SiO2@SiO2 core-shell microspheres using urea-formaldehyde polymers as the templates for fast separation of small solutes and proteins

The monodisperse superficially porous core-shell silica microspheres (CSSMs) with controllable shell thickness and pore size were synthesized by an improved polymerization-induced colloid aggregation (PICA) approach for fast separation of small solutes and proteins.     

Multilayer Films with Nanocontainers: Redox‐Controlled Reversible Encapsulation of Guest Molecules

Stable multilayer films with cucurbit[8]uril have been fabricated on the basis of the alternating layer‐by‐layer assembly of a novel side‐chain pseudopolyrotaxane and a photoreactive polyanion. The as‐prepared multilayer films exhibit good properties as surface‐imprinted multilayers, because cucurbit[8]uril molecules that are locked inside the multilayers can act as nanocontainers with specific binding to certain guest molecules, and the loading and release of the guest is redox‐controllable and reversible.     

Intermetallic Compounds: Liquid-Phase Synthesis and Electrocatalytic Applications

Characterized by long-range atomic ordering, well-defined stoichiometry, and controlled crystal structure, intermetallics have attracted increasing attention in the area of chemical synthesis and catalytic applications. Liquid-phase synthesis of intermetallics has arisen as the promising methodology due to its precise control over size, shape, and resistance toward sintering compared with the traditional metallurgy. This short review tends to provide perspectives on the liquid-phase synthesis of intermetallics in terms of both thermodynamics and methodology, as well as its applications in various catalytic reactions. Specifically, basic thermodynamics and kinetics in the synthesis of intermetallics will be first discussed, followed by discussing the main factors that will affect the formation of intermetallics during synthesis. The application of intermetallics in electrocatalysis will be demonstrated case by case at last. We conclude the review with perspectives on the future developments with respect to both synthesis and catalytic applications.     

Synthesis and properties of sulfur‐contained poly(silylene arylacetylene)s

Poly(silylene arylacetylene) (PSA) is a kind of poly(arylacetylene) silicon‐containing resins with excellent heat resistance and good mechanical performances. In this article, the sulfur atom is introduced into the main chain of the PSA molecule to obtain a sulfur‐containing poly(silylene arylacetylene), named S‐PSA. By Williamson and Sonogashira reactions, bis(4‐ethynylphenyl)sulfide and bis(4‐ethynylphenyl)sulfone were synthesized. Thereafter, through Grignard reagent way, the poly(silylene ethynylene phenylene sulfide phenylene ethynylene) (PSESE) and poly(silylene ethynylene phenylene sulfone phenylene ethynylene) (PSESO₂E) were synthesized from bis(4‐ethynylphenyl)sulfide, bis(4‐ethynylphenyl)sulfone, and methylphenyl dichlorosilane. Poly(silylene ethynylene phenylene sulfoxide phenylene ethynylene) (PSESOE) was synthesized by the oxidation of PSESE. The structures and properties of these resins were characterized and the mechanical properties of the T300 reinforced composites were tested. The results show that the novel S‐PSA resins have excellent heat resistance and good mechanical properties, and could be used as resin matrices for high‐performance composites in high‐tech fields. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
