We study the Helmholtz equation in the exterior of an infinite perturbed cylinder with a Dirichlet boundary condition. Existence and uniqueness of solutions are established using the variational technique introduced (SIAM J. Math. Anal. 2005; 37 (2):598–618). We consider inverse obstacle scattering problems for the wave equation with Robin or Neumann boundary conditions. The problem of reconstructing the geometry of such obstacles from measurements of scattered waves in the time domain is tackled using a time domain linear sampling method. This imaging technique yields a picture of the scatterer by solving a linear operator equation involving the measured data for many right-hand sides given by singular solutions to the wave equation. We analyse this algorithm for causal and smooth impulse shapes, we discuss the effect of different choices of the singular solutions used in the algorithm, and finally we propose a fast FFT-based implementation.  相似文献

We propose a new numerical method for the solution of the Bernoulli free boundary value problem for harmonic functions in a doubly connected domain D in where an unknown free boundary Γ0 is determined by prescribed Cauchy data on Γ0 in addition to a Dirichlet condition on the known boundary Γ1. Our main idea is to involve the conformal mapping method as proposed and analyzed by Akduman, Haddar, and Kress for the solution of a related inverse boundary value problem. For this, we interpret the free boundary Γ0 as the unknown boundary in the inverse problem to construct Γ0 from the Dirichlet condition on Γ0 and Cauchy data on the known boundary Γ1. Our method for the Bernoulli problem iterates on the missing normal derivative on Γ1 by alternating between the application of the conformal mapping method for the inverse problem and solving a mixed Dirichlet–Neumann boundary value problem in D. We present the mathematical foundations of our algorithm and prove a convergence result. Some numerical examples will serve as proof of concept of our approach. The initial plastic anisotropy parameters are conventionally determined from the Lankford strain ratios defined by rψ=ε22pψε33pψ (ψ being the direction of the loading path). They are usually considered as constant parameters that are determined at a given value of the plastic strain far from the early stage of the plastic flow (i.e. equivalent plastic strain of εeqp=0.2%) and typically at an equivalent plastic strain in between 20% and 50% of plastic strain failure (or material ductility). What prompts to question about the relevance of this determination, considering that this ratio does not remain constant, but changes with plastic strain. Accordingly, when the nonlinear evolution of the kinematic hardening is accounted for, the Lankford strain ratios are expected to evolve significantly during the plastic flow.In this work, a parametric study is performed to investigate the effect of the nonlinear kinematic hardening evolution of the Lankford strain ratios for different values of the kinematic hardening parameters. For the sake of clarity, this nonlinear kinematic hardening is formulated together with nonlinear isotropic hardening in the framework of anisotropic Hill-type (1948) yield criterion. Extension to other quadratic or non-quadratic yield criteria can be made without any difficulty. This parametric study is completed by studying the effect of these parameters on simulations of sheet metal forming by large plastic strains.  相似文献

The interior transmission problem appears naturally in the study of the inverse scattering problem of determining the shape of a penetrable medium from a knowledge of the time harmonic incident waves and the far field patterns of the scattered waves. We propose a variational study of this problem in the case of Maxwell's equations in an inhomogeneous anisotropic medium. Then we apply the obtained results to build an ‘extented far field’ operator and give a characterization of the medium from the knowledge of the range of this operator. We prove the existence of transmission eigenvalues corresponding to the inverse scattering problem for isotropic and anisotropic media for both the scalar problem and Maxwell's equations. Considering a generalized abstract eigenvalue problem, we are able to extend the ideas of Päivärinta and Sylvester [Transmission eigenvalues, SIAM J. Math. Anal. 40, (2008) pp. 783–753] to prove the existence of transmission eigenvalues for a larger class of interior transmission problems. Our analysis includes both the case of a medium with positive contrast and of a medium with negative contrast provided that the contrasts are large enough.  相似文献

This paper presents a new hybrid genetic algorithm for solving the container loading problem in the general case, precisely when the boxes have no orientation constraints. In order to improve the genetic algorithm efficiency, we developed a hybrid method, based on deterministic approaches combining the wall-building, level-slice approach and strip packing. A serie of experiments was achieved on 47 related benchmarks from the OR-Library. We could reach an average utilization of 94.47% and an average computation time of 840s on a 1.7 GHz core duo.  相似文献

The considered Robin problem can formally be seen as a small perturbation of a Dirichlet problem. However, due to the sign of the impedance value, its associated eigenvalues converge point-wise to ?∞ as the perturbation goes to zero. We prove in this case that Dirichlet eigenpairs are the only accumulation points of the Robin eigenpairs with normalized eigenvectors. We then provide a criterion to select accumulating sequences of eigenvalues and eigenvectors and exhibit their full asymptotic with respect to the small parameter.  相似文献
