Measurement of γp→K + Λ and γp→K + Σ 0 at photon energies up to 1.47 GeV

The reactions pK ⁺ and pK ^{+ 0} have been measured with the multiparticle detector system SAPHIR at ELSA in Bonn. Besides the differential cross sections the polarization and, for the first time, the ⁰ polarization have been determined in a photon induced reaction. All data are presented as functions of the photon energy (from threshold up to 1.47 GeV) and of the kaon production angle (0°–180°). The polarization of both and ⁰ is substantial at all energies and varies strongly with the production angle.This work is supported by the Bundesminister für Forschung und Technologie (BMFT), FK 06 BN 621 I     

Electroproduction of π0-mesons on protons at very low values of |q 2|

The electroproduction of π⁰-mesons on protons has been measured with electrons of 1.7 and 2.1 GeV energy in the region of the nucleon resonances at \(W = \sqrt {(q + p)^2 } = 1,400 - 2,000MeV\) at rather low values of |q ²|=|(e?e′)²|=0.01–0.1 GeV² but at high values of the nucleon recoil |t|=|(p?p′)²|≈0.6–2.2 GeV² corresponding to \(\Theta _\pi ^{cm} \approx 145^ \circ - 180^ \circ\) . Up toW≈1,650 MeV the cross section for π⁰-production with virtual photons of |q ²|≈0.03 GeV² is only slightly smaller than that with real photons. ForW?1,700 MeV the cross section at |q ²|≈0.03 GeV² is on average a factor of 2 smaller than that atq ²=0 but only slightly higher than that at |q ²|≈0.3–1 GeV².     

Uniformization of {\mathcal {G}}-bundles

We show some of the conjectures of Pappas and Rapoport concerning the moduli stack Bun_G{{\rm Bun}_\mathcal {G}} of G{\mathcal {G}}-torsors on a curve C, where G{\mathcal {G}} is a semisimple Bruhat-Tits group scheme on C. In particular we prove the analog of the uniformization theorem of Drinfeld-Simpson in this setting. Furthermore we apply this to compute the connected components of these moduli stacks and to calculate the Picard group of Bun_G{{\rm Bun}_\mathcal {G}} in case G{\mathcal {G}} is simply connected.     

Twisted Chern classes and Gm-gerbes

Using the language of stacks one can give a simple definition of functorial Chern classes for twisted sheaves. Calculating the cohomology ring of a ${\mathbb{G}}_m$-gerbe we observe that the twisted Chern classes used by Huybrechts and Stellari are specializations of these classes. We describe explicitly the relation between the choice of a cocycle in the definition of twisted sheaves and the 2-categorical structure of ${\mathbb{G}}_m$-gerbes. To cite this article: J.
