Industrial Reactor Power Monitoring Using Antineutrino Counts in the DANSS Detector

Detection of antineutrino by the reaction of the inverse β-decay can be used for an independent monitoring of a nuclear reactor power. DANSS detector is located directly under a commercial WWER-1000 reactor and counts up to 5000 antineutrino per day, providing the accuracy of 1.5% in 2 days of the flux measurement. A powerful system of the passive and active shielding in combination with the fine spatial segmentation of the detector allows to diminish the contribution of the background processes to a level, negligible in comparison to the statistical error. The influence of the nuclear fuel composition on the neutrino flux can be accounted for based on the input from the NPP staff.

     

Integrated Utilization of Silicon Tetrafluoride and Zirconium Dioxide

The reaction of silicon tetrafluoride with zirconium dioxide was studied. A technological scheme was suggested for utilization of silicon tetrafluoride and reprocessing of spent zirconium dioxide to obtain zircon and zirconium tetrafluoride.     

Estimation of parameters of linear physicochemical relations by the rectangle of the center-of-uncertainty method

Two approaches to the analysis of experimental data are discussed. An algorithm is given for one method of the nonstatistical approach. The algorithm is demonstrated for a specific example. Center-of-uncertainty and least-squares estimates of the parameters in a physicochemical relation are compared. A device for automatic transfer of photometry data to a computer

The device transforms a voltage U(t) into a series of numbers N_i representing the intensity distribution E() of the spectrum at the exit slit of a monochromator; it may similarly be used with a microphotometer. The digitized information may be passed to a computer store and processed. The device has been tested with a Minsk-1 computer.     

Self‐Equilibrated Stress Fields in a Continuous Medium

It is proved that the solutions of the static equations of a continuous medium constructed in terms of a stress function are selfequilibrated. From a mathematical point of view, these functions can be treated as the connectivity coefficients of the intrinsic geometry of the medium. It is shown that from a physical point of view, the existence of selfequilibrated stress fields is due to a nonuniform entropy distribution in the medium. As an example, for a circle in polar coordinates and a cylindrical sample, a selfequilibrated stress field and an elastic field compensating for its surface component are constructed and it is shown how to write the equation for the intrinsic geometrical characteristics.
