A method of resonant near-field microwave probing is developed for contactless diagnostics of a high-pressure plasma. The efficiency of this method in measuring the parameters of the plasma of an rf capacitive discharge in argon under atmospheric pressure is demonstrated. The experimental results are compared with the data obtained using the independent method, the microwave radiation “cutoff,” and with theoretical estimates.  相似文献

The effect of parity violation in the interaction of thermal neutrons with lead was discovered in a number of studies. According to the existing theory, this effect is explained by the mixing of compound states characterized by different parities (s-and p-wave resonances). In view of the absence of a p-wave resonance in the region of thermal neutron energies, it is of importance to reveal a level below the neutron binding energy, a so-called negative resonance. The energy dependence of the cross section for radiative neutron capture on lead was measured in the present study, and it is shown that, for the 207Pb isotope, the results of this measurement deviate from the \({1 \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {1 {\sqrt E }}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} {\sqrt E }}\) law, thereby suggesting the presence of a strong negative resonance. The parameters of this resonance are estimated.  相似文献

We review the experimental results on the P-even and P-odd angular correlations of fission fragments in the fission of the 235U and 239Pu nuclei induced by unpolarized and polarized resonance neutrons, and on the TRI and ROT effects in the ternary and binary fission of actinides induced by polarized thermal neutrons. Also reported are the measured yields of prompt and delayed neutrons per fission event. The experimental data are analyzed within a novel theoretical framework developed by the JINR—RNC KI Collaboration, whereby the reduction of the multidimensional phase space of fission fragments to the JπK-channel space is consistently validated and the role of resonance interference in the observed correlation effects is revealed.  相似文献

A series of experiments has been conducted at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics (FLNP) of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in order to study the possibility of determining the moisture content of coke using a standard neutron source. The proposed method is based on a measurement of the spectrum of prompt γ rays emitted when samples are irradiated by fast and/or thermal neutrons. The moisture content is determined from the area of the peaks of characteristic γ rays produced in the radiative capture of thermal neutrons by the proton (Eγ = 2.223 MeV) and inelastic scattering of fast neutrons by 16O (Eγ = 6.109 MeV). The 239Pu–Be neutron source (〈E n 〉 ~ 4.5 MeV) with an intensity of ~5 × 106 n/s was used to irradiate the samples under study. A scintillation detector based on a BGO crystal was used to register the characteristic γ radiation from the inelastic fast neutron scattering and slow (thermal) neutron capture. The high value of the cross section of thermal neutron capture by the 113Cd nucleus allows us to regard cadmium-loaded organic scintillators as an alternative to gadolinium-loaded analogues. We report on new plastic and liquid scintillators with maximum metal concentrations of 2 and 1.5 wt %, respectively. Transmission spectra, scintillation characteristics, and efficiencies of the registration of thermal neutrons are given.  相似文献

The partial cross section for radiative neutron capture by 48Ti nuclei was measured as a function of neutron energy. The method of neutron spectrometry used is based on the shift in the energy of the primary γ transition in response to a change in the energy of the captured neutron. The reaction 7Li(p, n)7Be was used as a neutron source. Protons were accelerated by a Van de Graaff electrostatic generator up to energies of 60 keV above the reaction threshold, which provided neutron energies in the range from 10 to 120 keV. The partial widths of some resonances were determined. The low-energy-gamma-ray spectra from neutron resonance capture with natural samples of Sb, Tb, Ho, and Ta were measured using the HPGe detector at the IBR-30 pulsed reactor at the JINR, Dubna. The resonance-spin-memory effect in the spectra from the odd-odd compound nuclei of 122Sb, 169Tb, and 166Ho was found to be quite distinct. For the 182Ta compound nucleus, it proved to be rather weak.  相似文献

Gamma-ray spectra from239Pu(n,f) reaction were measured with the gamma spectrometer on the pulsed reactor IBR-30. The fast 19-section ionization chamber with 1.6 g of239Pu targets was used. The fission gamma-rays within the 32 ns time window were measured using a Ge(Li) detector. Based on the measured gamma-ray spectrum in the (0.1–1.8) MeV interval, the total number of emitted-quanta-multiplicity N tot and total energy of -quanta per fission event, E tot , were calculated. The results were 7.0±0.6/fission and 6.8±0.5 MeV/fission respectively.This work is supported in part by the Grant Agency of the Slovak Academy of Science under grant GA-SAV 517/1992.  相似文献

The yield of delayed neutrons, v d , from thermal-neutron-induced fission of 245Cm is measured. Experiments aimed at studying the properties of delayed neutrons from the fission of some reactor isotopes and initiated in 1997 were continued at the upgraded Isomer-M facility by a method according to which a periodic irradiation of a sample with a pulsed neutron beam from the IBR-2 reactor was accompanied by recording emitted neutrons in the intervals between the pulses. The accuracy of the resulting total delayed-neutron yield v d = (0.64 ± 0.02)% is two times higher than that in previous measurements. This work was performed at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna).  相似文献
