We describe a simple method for patterning biomolecular films on surfaces with high resolution. A conventional polymeric resist is structured by electron-beam lithography. The exposed and developed patterns are then used for the directed self-assembly (SA) of a first molecule from solution. Removal of the remaining resist allows the SA of a second species. We illustrate the potential of the approach by assembling on gold (Au) substrates two alkanethiols of contrasting terminal functionality. The patterns have dimensions from the micrometer range down to 40 nm and an edge resolution of 3.5 nm. 相似文献

Laser induced backside wet etching combined with the diffractive gray tone phase mask has been used for the fabrication of a micro-lens array with a single lens diameter of 1 mm and a micro-prism in quartz. The micro-lens array was tested as beam homogenizer for high power XeCl excimer laser yielding a clear improvement in the quality of the laser beam.The optimum fluence range for fabrication of micro-lenses by laser induced backside wet etching using 1.4 M pyrene in THF solution and 308 nm irradiation wavelength is 1-1.6 J/cm2. The etching mechanisms of LIBWE are based on a combination of pressure and temperature jumps at quartz-liquid interface. 相似文献

Visible and Near Infrared (Vis–NIR) Spectroscopy is a powerful non destructive analytical method used to analyze major compounds in bulk materials and products and requiring no sample preparation. It is widely used in routine analysis and also in-line in industries, in-vivo with biomedical applications or in-field for agricultural and environmental applications. However, highly scattering samples subvert Beer–Lambert law's linear relationship between spectral absorbance and the concentrations. Instead of spectral pre-processing, which is commonly used by Vis–NIR spectroscopists to mitigate the scattering effect, we put forward an optical method, based on Polarized Light Spectroscopy to improve the absorbance signal measurement on highly scattering samples. This method selects part of the signal which is less impacted by scattering. The resulted signal is combined in the Absorption/Remission function defined in Dahm's Representative Layer Theory to compute an absorbance signal fulfilling Beer–Lambert's law, i.e. being linearly related to concentration of the chemicals composing the sample. The underpinning theories have been experimentally evaluated on scattering samples in liquid form and in powdered form. The method produced more accurate spectra and the Pearson's coefficient assessing the linearity between the absorbance spectra and the concentration of the added dye improved from 0.94 to 0.99 for liquid samples and 0.84–0.97 for powdered samples. 相似文献

The temperature dependence of brightness waves and of average emission intensity of ZnS powder phosphors excited by square pulses was studied. In certain temperature ranges brightness waves with two peaks in each half-period of the exciting field are observed. Microscopical investigations of individual luminescent areas of a ZnS-grain showed the second peak in the brightness wave to be present in that half-period which in the model of delayed recombination is called the excitation half-period. It is shown that this emission takes place after the excitation process (duration <2μs) is finished and the resulting field in the inner parts of the crystallites has almost faded. Because of this fact and on the basis of glow and built-up investigations in the excitation half-period a spontaneous recombination of electrons thermally released from traps is proposed. Therefore the brightness waves with two peaks, but also emission in the excitation half-period is observed for temperatures at which — in the time average — many traps are still filled but on the other hand the probability for their emptying is already considerable. 相似文献

The temperature dependence of spectral distribution of photoconductivity was measured on evaporated polycrystalline layers of lead-selenide in the range from 80 to 300 °K. The method ofBardeen, Blatt andHall was used, to calculate the band gap for direct and indirect transitions. A linear positive temperature coefficient was obtained for both transitions. The x-ray excited luminescence of a zinc-cadmium sulfide phosphor activated by manganese and cobalt can be enhanced by infrared or red light, by alternating electric fields, and by both together. The infrared light as well as the electric field enhance the same emission band caused by manganese. The dependence of the enhancement on the strength and on the frequency of the electric field, and on the intensity and on the wavelength of the stimulating radiation has been investigated. Maximum enhancements are observed at frequencies of about 20 cps and at wavelengths of 0.77 and 1.35 μ of the stimulating light. When both the electric field and the stimulating light are applied together, the enhancement is lower than the sum of both effects. While at small intensities of the infrared the emission is increased by an additional electric field, it is diminished at high intensities. If the non-excited phosphor is exposed to the infrared a memory effect is found quite similar to that produced by electric fields reported byDestriau. The results are discussed using a model published earlier. 相似文献
