Ultrafine -SiC with high surface area (150 m2 g–1) has been synthesized by inflight processing of charred rice husk in a r.f. plasma reactor operating at atmospheric pressure. The plasma-synthesized particles were doped with platinum (1%) and tested as a catalytic support material. The catalyst (1% Pt doped -SiC) showed 100% conversion of CO to CO2 at a temperature as low as 175°C. 相似文献

The ion exchange and sorption properties of crystalline Tin bis(monohydrogen orthophosphate) monohydrate of composition Sn(HPO(4))(2).H(2)O were studied in an aqueous solution of KCl over the temperature range 300-320 K, varying the pH and metal ion concentration in the solution. The data were explained on the basis of the law of chemical equilibrium. The metal ion sorption data were fitted to the Langmuir adsorption equation to evaluate the Langmuir parameters. The extent of adsorption was found to increase with an increase in temperature and metal ion concentration in the selectivity order Cu(2+)>Co(2+)>Ni(2+). Tetravalent metal phosphates (M=Zr, Ti, and Sn) were prepared and characterized by XRD, surface properties, and TG-DTA. The cation exchange and sorption behavior of these metal phosphates toward transition metal ions such as Cu(2+), Co(2+), and Ni(2+) have been studied comparatively as a function of temperature and concentration. The adsorption process was found to increases with increase in temperature and concentration. The selectivity order for alpha-titanium and alpha-tin phosphates is Cu(2+)>Co(2+)>Ni(2+), whereas for alpha-zirconium phosphate it is Cu(2+)>Ni(2+)>Co(2+). The ion exchange capacity of alpha-titanium phosphate is greater than those of other phosphates, which is explained on the basis of the surface behavior, disorderness of the system, degree of hydrolysis of incoming guest adsorbate metal ions, and structural steric hindrance of the exchangers during adsorption and sorption. The distribution coefficient, Gibbs free energy, enthalpy, and entropy values indicate that the ion-exchange processes are spontaneous. 相似文献

This study investigated thermodynamic properties of uranium–titanium alloy to determine its suitability for storage of hydrogen isotopes. The enthalpy increments of U2Ti were measured using a high temperature inverse drop calorimeter in the temperature range of 299–1,169 K. Temperature dependence of the molar enthalpy increment and molar heat capacity is expressed in the form $ H^\circ_{\text{m}} (T) - H^\circ_{\text{m}} (298.15\,{\text{K}})({\text{J }}\,{\text{mol}}^{ - 1} ) = 23.236(T/{\text{K}}) + 53.292 \times 10^{ - 3} (T/{\text{K}})^{2} - 21.294 \times 10^{5} ({\text{K}}/T) - 4523 $ and $ C^\circ_{\text{p,m}} ({\text{J}}\,{\text{K}}^{ - 1} \,{\text{g}}^{ - 1} ) = 23.236 + 10.6584 \times 10^{ - 2} (T/{\text{K}}) + 21.294 \times 10^{5} ({\text{K}}/T)^{2} (300 \le T/{\text{K}} \le 900) $ , respectively. Effect of Hall current on the unsteady free convection flow of a viscous incompressible and electrically conducting fluid past a fluctuating porous flat plate with internal heat absorption/generation in the presence of foreign gasses (such as H2, CO2, H2O, NH3) was investigated. The results are discussed with the effect of the parameters m, the Hall current, Mt, the hydromagnetic parameter, G r the Grashoff number for heat transfer, G c , the Grashoff number for mass transfer, S, the internal heat absorption/generation parameter, α, the transpiration parameter, S c , the Schmidt parameter, and K c the chemical reaction parameter for Prandtl number P r = 0.71, which represents air. Further, the present study accounts for the 1st order chemical reaction affecting the flow characteristics. The governing equations are solved in closed form applying Hh n (x) function. The effects of pertinent parameters characterizing the flow field are discussed with the help of graphs and tables. The important observation of the present study is that heat generation/absorption modifies the flow of current simultaneously to a magnetic force and thermal bouncy force. Hydrotalcite-like compounds (HTlcs) containing Mg(2+), Al(3+), and Ce(3+) in the hydroxide layer and with carbonate as charge-balancing anion have been prepared by a co-precipitation (at constant pH) method. The Al/Ce ratio in the final product depends on the concentration in the initial solution. The crystallinity of the layered materials decreases with the increase in cerium content, probably, due to the distortions introduced by the large difference in the ionic radii of the cations. All the synthesized materials were characterized by XRD, FT-IR spectroscopy and TG/DTA. The textural properties were determined from low-temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements. 相似文献

The effects of the scale dependent vacuum expectation values (VEVs) on the running masses of quarks and leptons in non-SUSY
gauge theories have been considered by a number of authors. Here we use RGEs of the VEVs, and the gauge and Yukawa couplings
in the MSSM to analytically derive new one loop formulas for the running masses above the SUSY breaking scale. Some of the
masses exhibit a substantially different behaviour with respect to their dependence on the gauge and Yukawa couplings when
compared with earlier formulas in the MSSM derived ignoring RGEs of VEVs. In particular, the masses of the first two generations
are found to be independent of the Yukawa couplings of the third generation in the small mixing limit. New numerical estimates
at the two loop level are also presented.
