Ambient particulate matter and gas in Kyoto were investigated by gravimetric analysis, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, and ion chromatography in order to clarify their behavior and origin. The size distribution and characteristics of the chemical components in ambient particulates collected on PTFE membrane filters using an Andersen air sampler were examined from August 2001 to April 2004. A four-stage filter pack method was used to sample the atmosphere for the determination of gas (SO2, HNO3, HCl, NH3) and particulate matter (SO42, NO3, Cl-, Na+, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, NH4+) concentrations from October 2002 to April 2004. The concentration of SPM mass was in the range of 6.7 - 80.2 microg/m3. The size distributions of SPM mass were bimodal, peaking at around 0.65 - 1.1 and 3.3 - 4.7 microm, and 40 - 85% of SPM mass was fine particles (< 2.1 microm). Na, Mg, Al, Si, Ca, Cl, and Fe were mainly present in coarse particles (2.1 to 11.0 microm), while S was present in fine particles. The concentrations of Al, Si, Ca, Mg, and Fe in fine particles increased from March to April in 2002, and those in coarse particulates increased in November 2002 and from March to April in 2004. This may be the effect of the continental yellow sand "Kosa." The differences in the size distributions of Al, Si, Ca, Mg, and Fe in particles may depend on differences in their place of occurrence and course of transport from China to Japan. The concentration of HCl gas was higher than that of particulate chloride ion in summer. Nitric acid gas existed at higher concentrations in summer, but fine particulate nitrate ion was observed in winter. The gaseous-to-fine aerosol nitrate fraction became higher at warmer temperatures. Uptake and reduction of arsenate [AS(V)] by Dunaliella sp. cells were determined to investigate the metabolic processes of arsenic in the alga. Cellular uptake of arsenic by Dunaliella sp. cells was markedly affected by the form of arsenic in the medium. The content of arsenic taken up by Dunaliella sp. cells increased rapidly with time on addition of As(V) to the medium. However, in the case of addition of arsenite [As(III)], the gradient of arsenic uptake by Dunaliella sp. cells was low, and arsenic content was small. In the water-soluble fraction of arsenic taken up by Dunaliella sp. cells with exposure to As(V), arsenic was in the forms of organic arsenic, As(V) and As(III). The content of As(V) in the water-soluble fraction increased with exposure time. The content of As(III) also increased with time, but remained constant after 5 h of exposure. On the other hand, organic arsenic content was small and did not increase with time. It was found that Dunaliella sp. takes up As(V) and readily reduces it to As(III) 相似文献

An asymmetric total synthesis of ent‐pyripyropene A was achieved by a convergent synthetic route. We used our originally developed TiIII‐catalyzed radical cyclization to construct an AB‐ring portion that consisted of a trans‐decalin skeleton with five contiguous stereogenic centers. The coupling between the AB‐ring and the DE‐ring portions, and a subsequent C‐ring cyclization, led to the total synthesis of ent‐pyripyropene A. An evaluation of the insecticidal activity of ent‐pyripyropene A against two aphid species revealed that ent‐pyripyropene A was 35–175 times less active than naturally occurring pyripyropene A. This result indicated that the biological target of pyripyropene A recognizes the absolute configuration of pyripyropene A. 相似文献

A directing/protecting‐group‐free synthesis of 1,3,4,5‐tetraaryl‐substituted pyrazoles was achieved through four transition metal‐catalyzed direct arylations. Various pyrazoles with four different aryl rings were obtained using readily available reagents from an unsubstituted pyrazole. Two aryl‐substituted pyrazoles showed intense violet fluorescence, high quantum yields (Φf=0.68, 0.64), and large Stokes shifts (19000, 15200 cm?1). 相似文献

Micro-flow photochemical reactions have great advantage over batch photochemical reactions due to its high light-penetration efficiency. Integrated micro-flow reaction enables efficient synthesis of structurally complex compounds from simple starting materials and it can avoid handling of explosive, toxic, unstable, or odorous intermediates. Combination of micro-flow photochemical reactions with integrated micro-flow synthesis enhances their benefits. Here we summarize recently reported integrated multi-step micro-flow synthesis containing various photochemical reactions. 相似文献

Smaller cyclic peptides containing non-proteinogenic amino acids have garnered much attention for use as drugs, but their chemical synthesis is extremely challenging. In this study, a rapid (60.5 min) synthesis of 7- and 14-membered cyclic peptides containing N-methyl- and β-amino acids was achieved by only switching the concentrations (0.20 M or 0.01 M) of the substrates. The developed approach required neither expensive transition-metals nor expensive coupling agents. As far as we could ascertain, this is the first report of the synthesis of smaller (≤16-membered) cyclic N-methylated peptides via dimerization-cyclization strategy. 相似文献

The development of a robust amide-bond formation remains a critical aspect of N-methylated peptide synthesis. In this study, we synthesized a variety of dipeptides in high yields, without severe racemization, from equivalent amounts of amino acids. Highly reactive N-methylimidazolium cation species were generated in situ to accelerate the amidation. The key to success was the addition of a strong Brønsted acid. The developed amidation enabled the synthesis of a bulky peptide with a higher yield in a shorter amount of time compared with the results of conventional amidation. In addition, the amidation can be performed by using either a microflow reactor or a conventional flask. The first total synthesis of naturally occurring bulky N-methylated peptides, pterulamides I–IV, was achieved. Based on experimental results and theoretical calculations, we speculated that a Brønsted acid would accelerate the rate-limiting generation of acyl imidazolium cations from mixed carbonic anhydrides. 相似文献

To investigate the effect of cadmium on the accumulation of arsenic by Dunaliella sp., the arsenic accumulated in the alga was determined as a function of time for coexistence of the algae with arsenic and cadmium, with batch methodology. Growth of Dunaliella sp. was affected by addition of arsenic (Na2HAsO4.7H2O) and cadmium (CdCl.2.5H2O). Growth inhibition of Dunaliella sp. was accelerated by coexistence of arsenic and cadmium. The content of arsenic in Dunaliella sp. became a maximum at 15 h after exposure. The arsenic content in the cells was influenced by addition of cadmium to the solution; the arsenic content in the alga derived from growth in a 10 mg As dm ?3 solution decreased from 2.7 mg g?1 in the absence of cadmium to 0.35 mg g?1 for the addition of 100 mg Cd dm?3. Dunaliella sp. accumulated cadmium in large quantities but, in conditions of coexistence with arsenic and cadmium, the cadmium content in cells decreased with an increase in the concentration of arsenic in the growth medium Cadmium accumulation by Dunaliella sp. was observed in dead cells although arsenic accumulation was not observed. About 85% of arsenic in the cells was in the water-soluble fraction. On the other hand, about 42% of cadmium in the cells was in the water-soluble fraction, and about 55% was in a fraction soluble in cold trichloroacetic acid. 相似文献

A rapid synthesis of 1,3,4,5‐tetraaryl‐substituted pyrazoles has been achieved through a sequence of SNAr reaction/Suzuki–Miyaura coupling/Pd‐catalyzed direct arylations that used 3‐iodo‐1H‐pyrazole as a scaffold. Pyrazoles with four different aryl groups were synthesized in a straightforward manner with no extra synthetic steps, such as protection/deprotection or the introduction of activating/directing groups, using readily available substrates and reagents. The developed synthetic approach enabled the structurally diverse synthesis of multiaryl‐substituted pyrazoles without using a glovebox technique. 相似文献
