Large-scale one-dimensional magnesium oxide (MgO) nanowires with diameters of 6 nm and lengths of 10 μm have been successfully synthesized by a new facile and simple reaction. This production was performed via a microwave hydrothermal approach at low temperature growth of 180 °C for 30 min. The structure of as synthesized MgO nanowires were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (X-ray), Fourier Transformation Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Selected Area Electron Diffraction (SAED) and Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDS). The antibacterial behavior of MgO nanowires concentration in solid media against Gram negative and Gram positive for different bacteria has been tested in details. The results show that the MgO nanowires have bacteriostatic activity against Escherichia coli and Bacillus sp. The antibacterial activity increases with increasing MgO nanowires concentration. Furthermore, the presence of one-dimensional MgO nanowires has high antibacterial efficacy and damages the membrane wall of bacteria. Finally, this study offered the prospect of developing ultrafine nanoscale devices utilizing MgO nanowires and implementing their useful potential in biological control.  相似文献

A mixture of crystalline Co3O4/CoO nanorods with non-uniform dense distribution has been successfully synthesized by microwave hydrothermal technique. The synthesized nanorods have been characterized by several techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The results showed that the as synthesized specimens contained mixed crystalline Co3O4/CoO nanorods with an average length of around 80 nm and an average diameter of 42 nm. UV–Vis spectrum of the nanorods exhibited a strong UV emission. The band energy gap of the product was 1.79 eV which lies between the energy gap of CoO and that for Co3O4. The obtained carrier concentration is of the order 4.32 × 1027 m−3 and the dielectric constant is found to be 4.89. The electrical conductivity increases with increasing temperature and behaves as a semiconducting material with an activation energy of a bout 0.26 eV. This makes the as synthesized mixed Co3O4/CoO nanorods very useful for supercapacitor devices application. Magnetic hysteresis loops at room temperature of the as synthesized mixed oxides (Co3O4/CoO) nanorods exhibit typical soft magnetic behavior.  相似文献

A new series of laterally fluorinated mesomorphic compounds, namely 2-fluoro-4-((4-(alkyloxy)phenyl)diazenyl)phenyl 4-substitutedbenzoate (Inx) were prepared and evaluated for their mesophase behavior. The synthesized series constitutes five members that possess different terminally attached polar groups (X). Their molecular structures were confirmed by elemental analyses and both FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. Examination of the prepared derivatives was conducted via experimental and theoretical tools. Mesomorphic investigations were carried by polarized optical microscopy (POM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). DSC and POM measurements indicated that except for the un-substituted analogue, all other derivatives were purely nematogenic, possessing their nematic (N) mesophase enantiotropically. This is to say that insertions of terminal polar substituents on their mesogenic structures induced the N phase. In addition, the location of lateral and terminal polar moieties played a considerable role in achieving good thermal N stability. Computational calculations were investigated to determine the deduced optimized molecular structures. Theoretical data indicated that both size and polarity of the terminal substituent (X) have essential impact on the thermal parameters and optical properties of possible geometries.  相似文献

Starting from 2,5-bisarylidenecyclopentanone and malononitrile (1:1) several novel pyrindine derivatives were synthesized by a facile and convenient one-pot reaction using sodium ethoxide in absolute ethanol at room temperature. The structure of the reaction products was unambiguously deduced ftom their infrared, 1H-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, elemental analysis and single crystal X-ray crystallography.  相似文献
