Isotactic polypropylene (PP) composites filled with hydroxyapatite nanorods (nHAs) were fabricated using a melt compounding process. The effects of nHA additions on the structure, thermal, and mechanical properties as well as bioactivity of PP were investigated. Wide-angle X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry results showed that PP crystallized exclusively in the α-form when adding nHAs. Dynamic mechanical analysis showed that nHAs enhanced the storage modulus of PP. Mechanical measurements showed that nHAs stiffened and reinforced PP but reduced its tensile ductility and impact strength considerably. Furthermore, the PP/nHA nanocomposites were found to exhibit excellent bioactivity upon immersion in a simulated body fluid solution. This was attributed to the formation of apatite mineral crystals on the nanocomposite surfaces as revealed by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis. 相似文献

A technique which combines image analysis and polarising optical microscope (POM) is a useful tool for the physical investigation of discotic liquid crystals, such as hexabutoxytriphenylene and hexahexyloxytriphenylene. This investigation includes the phase transitions, optical properties and order parameter as a function of temperature. Textures of discotic liquid crystals are captured as a function of temperature using POM. These microscopic textures are analysed using MATLAB software to compute statistical parameters, Legendre moments, optical parameters and order parameters of discotic liquid crystal samples. Compared with other techniques in the literature, the proposed methodology is a reliable and very simple technique for the physical investigation of liquid crystals. 相似文献

The lifetimes of five excited states in 197Au up to an excitation energy of 885 keV were measured by the recoil-distance method (RDM). These levels were populated by Coulomb excitation using both 90 MeV 20Ne and 120 MeV 35Cl ion beams. The experimentally determined spectroscopy of the low-lying levels (ground state) and , , , and at 77.3, 268.8, 278.9, and 547.5 keV excitation energy, respectively, has been critically compared with the detailed predictions of the de-Shalit weak-coupling core-excitation model. When the model is taken to represent the case of a proton hole coupled to a 198Hg core, the model parameters obtained are in accord with the criteria implicit for weak core coupling and, at the same time, are in remarkably good agreement with virtually all measured E2 and M1 transition rates. 相似文献

This article presents a facile method to prepare silver/polystyrene composite microspheres. In this approach, monodispersed polystyrene (PS) particles were synthesized with carboxyl acid groups on the surfaces of the PS particles via dispersion polymerization at first. With the addition of [Ag(NH3)2]+ to the PS dispersion, [Ag(NH3)2]+ was absorbed to the surfaces of the PS particles, and then by heating the system, [Ag(NH3)2]+ complex ions were reduced to silver to form the Ag/PS composite microspheres. In the synthesis of PS dispersion, PVP was used as dispersant to stabilize the PS particles, it also acted as reducing agent in the reduction of [Ag(NH3)2]+ complex ions to silver, so no additional reducing agent was needed. The resulting composite microspheres were characterized by TEM, SEM, XPS, and XRD. Mixtures containing ammonia-borane and sec-butylamine-borane remain liquid throughout the hydrogen release process that affords tri(N-sec-butyl)borazine and polyborazylene. In the past few years some problems have arisen as to the interpretation of experimental plate height data of packed chromatographic columns by means of the theory of VAN DEEMTER et al. These difficulties concern the “eddy diffusion” and “mass transfer” terms in particular. Light may be thrown on this matter by the recognition of unevenness of flow throughout the column cross-section as a major source of band-broadening. By considering the contribution to plate height resulting from the interaction between such flow profiles and various mechanisms of lateral transport of material it proved possible to solve the above-mentioned difficulties. 相似文献

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) nanocomposites reinforced with hydroxyapatite nanorods (nHA) were fabricated by means of extrusion and injection molding. The thermal, mechanical, and dry sliding wear properties of HDPE-based nanocomposites filled with nHA loadings up to 20 wt% were investigated. The results of mechanical property characterization showed that nHA additions improved the hardness, elastic modulus, and yield strength of HDPE at the expense of its tensile ductility and impact strength. Thermogravimetric analysis and heat deflection temperature measurements revealed that nHA fillers are very effective to enhance the thermal stability of HDPE. The wear behavior of HDPE/nHA nanocomposites was studied using a pin-on-disk tribometer. nHA fillers of a large aspect ratio improved the wear resistance of HDPE substantially because of their load-bearing effect and the formation of a continuous transfer film on the steel counterface. 相似文献

AD = 1 position-dependent mass approach to constructing nonlinear quantum states for a modified Coulomb potential is used to generate Gazeau–Klauder coherent states. It appears that their energy eigenvalues are scaled down by the quantum number and the nonlinearity coefficient.
