We studied the isotope, pressure and doping effects on the pseudogap temperature T* by neutron spectroscopic experiments of the relaxation rate of crystal-field excitations in La1.96−xSrxHo0.04CuO4 (x = 0.11, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25) on the high-resolution time-of-flight spectrometer FOCUS at SINQ, PSI. We found clear evidence for the opening of a pseudogap in the underdoped regime at T*(x = 0.11) = (82.2 ± 1.2) K as well as in the overdoped and the heavily overdoped compounds at T*(x = 0.2) = (49.2 ± 0.7) K and at T*(x = 0.25) = (46.5 ± 0.5) K, respectively. Furthermore, we investigated the effect of oxygen isotope substitution on the pseudogap, the experiments revealed ΔT*(x = 0.11) = (21.3 ± 5.2) K and ΔT*(x = 0.2) = (4.5 ± 1.3) K. The application of hydrostatic pressure (0.8 and 1.2 GPa) on the optimally doped compound (x = 0.15) results in a downward shift of dT*/dp = (−5.9 ± 1.6) K/GPa.  相似文献

The ferroelectromagnet YMnO3 consists of weakly coupled triangular layers of S=2 spins. Below T(N) approximately equal to 70 K muon-spin relaxation data show two oscillatory relaxing signals due to magnetic order, with no purely relaxing signals resolvable (which would require different coexisting spin distributions). The transition temperature T(N) increases with applied hydrostatic pressure, even though the ordered moment decreases. These results suggest that pressure increases both the exchange coupling between the layers and the frustration within the layers.  相似文献

The spectrum of spin fluctuations in the stacked-triangular antiferromagnet YMnO3 was studied above the Néel temperature using both unpolarized and polarized inelastic neutron scattering. We find an in-plane and an out-of-plane excitation. The in-plane mode has two components just above T N : a resolution-limited central peak and a Debye-like contribution. The quasi-elastic fluctuations have a line width that increases with q as Dq z and the dynamical exponent z = 2.3. The out-of-plane fluctuations have a gap at the magnetic zone center and do not show any appreciable q dependence at small wave vectors.  相似文献

We report on the effect of external pressure on the superconducting transition temperature (Tc) of as‐grown and thermally treated single crystals of superconducting iron chalcogenide Rb0.85Fe1.9Se2. The superconducting transition temperature of 27.1 K at ambient pressure for the as‐grown sample was found to increase up to 33.2 K for the sample annealed for 3 h at 215 °C in vacuum. An increase of Tc up to 28.2 K was observed for the as‐grown sample at a pressure of 0.83 GPa. For all the studied crystals, annealed in the temperature range between 215 °C and 290 °C, the external pressure seems to decrease the superconducting transition temperature and a negative pressure coefficient of Tc was observed. We report on the synthesis of single crystals of BaFe(2)Se(3) and study their crystal and magnetic structures by means of synchrotron single-crystal x-ray and neutron powder diffraction. The crystal structure has orthorhombic symmetry and consists of double chains of FeSe(4) edge connected tetrahedra intercalated with barium. Below 240 K, long range spin-block checkerboard antiferromagnetic order is developed. The magnetic structure is similar to one observed in A(0.8)Fe(1.6)Se(2) (A = K, Rb or Cs) superconductors. The crystals exhibit a transition to the diamagnetic state with an onset transition temperature of T(c) ~ 11 K. Though we observe FeSe as an impurity phase (<0.8% mass fraction) it is not likely that the diamagnetism is attributable to the FeSe superconductor, which has T(c) ≈ 8.5 K.  相似文献

Temperature-dependent synchrotron powder diffraction on Cs(0.83)(Fe(0.86)Se)(2) revealed first-order I4/m to I4/mmm structural transformation around 216 °C associated with a disorder of the Fe vacancies. Irreversibility observed during the transition is likely associated with a mobility of the intercalated alkali atoms. Pressure-dependent synchrotron powder diffraction on Cs(0.83)(Fe(1-y)Se)(2), Rb(0.85)(Fe(1-y)Se)(2), and K(0.8)(Fe(1-y)Se)(2) (y ~ 0.14) indicated that the I4/m superstructure reflections are present up to pressures of 120 kbar. This may indicate that the ordering of the Fe vacancies is present in both superconducting and nonsuperconductive states.  相似文献

Recently, the solid solution Ce2Au1− x Co xSi3 has been shown to exhibit many magnetic anomalies associated with the competition between magnetic ordering and the Kondo effect. Here we report high pressure electrical resistivity of Ce2AuSi3, ac susceptibility (X) and magnetoresistance of various alloys of this solid solution in order to gain better knowledge of the magnetism of these alloys. High pressure resistivity behavior is consistent with the proposal that Ce2AuSi3 lies at the left-hand side of the maximum in Doniach’s magnetic phase diagram. The ac X data reveal that there are in fact two magnetic transitions, one at 2 K and the other at 3 K for this compound, both of which are spin-glass-like. However, as the Co concentration is increased, antiferromagnetism is stabilized for intermediate compositions before attaining non-magnetism for the Co end member.  相似文献

A gradual spin-state transition occurs in LaCoO3 around T approximately 80-120 K, whose detailed nature remains controversial. We studied this transition by means of inelastic neutron scattering and found that with increasing temperature an excitation at approximately 0.6 meV appears, whose intensity increases with temperature, following the bulk magnetization. Within a model including crystal-field interaction and spin-orbit coupling, we interpret this excitation as originating from a transition between thermally excited states located about 120 K above the ground state. We further discuss the nature of the magnetic excited state in terms of intermediate-spin (t(2g)(5)e(g)(1), S=1) versus high-spin (t(2g)(4)e(g)(2), S=2) states. Since the g factor obtained from the field dependence of the inelastic neutron scattering is g approximately 3, the second interpretation is definitely favored.  相似文献

We report muon-spin relaxation measurements on the magnetic structures of RBaCo2O(5.5) with R=Y, Tb, Dy, and Ho. Three different phases, one ferrimagnetic and two antiferromagnetic, are identified below 300 K. They consist of different ordered spin state arrangements of high-, intermediate-, and low-spin Co3+ of CoO6 octahedra. Phase separation into well separated regions with different spin state order is observed in the antiferromagnetic phases. The unusual strongly anisotropic magnetoresistance and its onset at the FM-AFM phase boundary is explained.  相似文献
