This paper is intended to clarify a misunderstanding concerningthe source singularity of the electric Green's tensor for aperfectly conducting semi-infinite cone of circular cross-section.Tai's series expansion of the Green's tensor is known to lacka singular term at the source region. Jones has reconstructedthe solution to this problem and has pointed out the differencebetween his result and that of Tai. The aim of our paper isto demonstrate that, although Jones's closed-form solution iscorrect, there is a mistake in his comparison with Tai's seriessolution. We conclude that one of the two additional singularterms that Jones claims as missing from Tai's formula must beomitted. Besides, we compare Jones's closed-form solution withSmyshlyaev's solution to the very same problem. We concludethat the magnetic field expressions given by Jones and Smyshlyaevcoincide, but a singular term is missing from Smyshlyaev's expressionfor the electric field.  相似文献

The scattering of incident plane elastic waves by a varietyof different defects that lie upon a fluid-solid interface isconsidered here using matched asymptotic expansions. The expansionscheme is developed in terms of a parameter , the ratio of typicaldefect length scale to a typical wavelength of the incidentfield, taken to be small. Three different canonical situations occur and these are illustratedvia three specific examples treated here: a rigid strut, anedge crack, and a rigid strip. In each case the leading-ordermatching is performed to identify the leading-order contributionof the defect to the acoustic field in the far field. In particular,each defect is identified with a source of dipole response ininterfacial stress of displacement. It is shown in the limit as s<<s1 that in the inner problemsthe fluid and solid pieces uncouple in a particularly convenientmanner allowing analytical solutions to be deduced. These arethen matched with appropriate outer solutions.  相似文献

Monitoring of the titanium, Ti-5Al-4V, Ti-6Al-4Fe implant materials--Ringer 1 and Ringer 2 solutions (of different pH values) interface for long term was studied in this work. In Ringer 1 solution (with high chloride ion content) all biomaterials present self-passivation. On Ti-6Al-4Fe alloy, the breakdown of the passive film was registered but at high pitting potential; pitting protection potential is very noble and can not be reached in human fluids. In Ringer 2 solution was obtained more electropositive corrosion potential values than in Ringer 1 solution; pitting corrosion of Ti-6Al-4Fe alloy is characterised by nobler breakdown and pitting protection potential values, therefore a better pitting corrosion resistance and tendency. Ion release increases in time, for the first 400-600 immersion hours and then tend to a constant level with very low values, non-dangerous for human body. All open circuit potentials oscillate around some electropositive values. The potential gradients calculated for extreme pH values have low values during 20,000 exposure hours and can not accelerate the corrosion. Atomic Force Microscopy images obtained after different exposure periods in Ringer 1 solution revealed that the roughness increased in time, suggesting a dynamic process at biomaterial-biofluid interface. X-ray Photoelectron spectra obtained after 2880 immersion hours in Ringer 2 solution show the existence of protective titanium dioxide TiO(2) and TiO and Ti(2)O(3) oxides both for titanium and Ti-5Al-4V alloy. Also, Al(2)O(3) oxide was detected.  相似文献

Landfill represents the least environmentally-friendly method of waste disposal because of possible pollution to the environment. Dangerous wastes pose the greatest problems and are often disposed of by combustion. This process reduces their volume but entails the formation of new types of dangerous waste. The present study focuses on the possibilities of the removal of the hazardous properties of waste originating from hazardous waste incinerators (three types of bottom ash and charcoal from flue gas cleaning) by bioleaching. Toxic pollutants originating from waste could be removed by bioleaching with Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans. The effectiveness of bioleaching was evaluated on the basis of the pollutant content in the aqueous leachates. For studying the relation between the efficiency of bioleaching and the binding of pollutants in the waste, Tessier’s sequential extraction was used. A comparison of bioleaching efficiency and the results of sequential extraction shows that bioleaching can be used to remove elements which are in an exchangeable form or are bound to carbonates, meaning that they are bound in bio-available forms. Bacterial activity was also shown to change the bonds of pollutants in wastes, leading to increased solubility of the pollutant.  相似文献

The interfacial-dynamic behaviour of a fluid two-phase-system with mass transfer was investigated under influence of forced convection in the manner of flat jets directed to the interface. The tangential velocities were measured at a characteristic point near to the interface air/water or in the interface itself using a Laser-Doppler-Velocimeter in dependence on the velocities of jets into two phases in both cases with and without transfer of acetone. The variations of velocities due to the interfacial effects are only detectable at small velocities of the jets. They are discussed by model conceptions and compared with the results of a theoretical research of heat transfer in a fluid two-phase-system (Interfacial-dynamic surface renewal model).  相似文献

Various parabolic equations for advected acoustic waves have been derived based on the assumptions of small Mach number and narrow propagation angles, which are of limited validity in atmospheric acoustics. A parabolic equation solution that does not require these assumptions is derived in the weak shear limit, which is appropriate for frequencies of about 0.1 Hz and above for atmospheric acoustics. When the variables are scaled appropriately in this limit, terms involving derivatives of the sound speed, density, and wind speed are small but can have significant cumulative effects. To obtain a solution that is valid at large distances from the source, it is necessary to account for linear terms in the first derivatives of these quantities [A. D. Pierce, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 87, 2292-2299 (1990)]. This approach is used to obtain a scalar wave equation for advected waves. Since this equation contains two depth operators that do not commute with each other, it does not readily factor into outgoing and incoming solutions. An approximate factorization is obtained that is correct to first order in the commutator of the depth operators.  相似文献
