Mannich reaction in the synthesis of N,S-containing heterocycles. 1. Synthesis of novel derivatives of imidazo[2,1-<Emphasis Type="Italic">b</Emphasis>][1,3,5]thiadiazine

Reactions of (Z)-5-benzylidene-2-thiohydantoin with formaldehyde and primary aromatic amines afforded novel derivatives of imidazo[2,1-b][1,3,5]thiadiazine in 50–69% yields. A new stereoselective synthesis of 2-amino-4,5-dihydrothiophene-3-carbonitrile derivatives

A new stereoselective method for the synthesis of trans-isomers of 2-amino-4-aryl-5-benzoyl-4,5-dihydrothiophene-3-carbonitriles was proposed. The method involves base-catalyzed reactions of phenacyl thiocyanate with 3-(het)aryl-2-cyanoprop-2-enethioamides. (4R,5S/4S,5R)-2-Amino-5-benzoyl-4-(2-chlorophenyl)-4,5-ihydrothiophene-3-carbonitrile was structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. Published in Russian in Izvestiya Akademii Nauk. The Mannich reaction in the synthesis of N,S-containing heterocycles. 7. Effective one-pot synthesis of derivatives of spiro[3,5,7,11-tetraazatricyclo-[7.3.1.0<Superscript>2,7</Superscript>]tridec-2-ene-13,4′-piperidine]

5,11-Disubstituted derivatives of 1′-isopropyl-8-thioxospiro[3,5,7,11-tetrazatricyclo[7.3.1.0^2,7]tridec-2-ene-13,4′-piperidine]-1,9-dicar bonitrile was obtained by the interaction of 10-amino-9-aza-3-azonia-7,11-dicyano-3-isopropylspiro[5,5]undeca-7,10-diene-8-thiolate with 2 equiv. of a primary amine and excess of formaldehyde. An anomalous reaction product was obtained with o-toluidine — 7,9-dicyano-1′-isopropyl-3-(2-methylphenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrospiro[pyrido[1,2-a][1,3,5]triazine-8,4′-piper idinium]-6-thiolate. __________ Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 11, 1709–1713, November, 2007.

Reactions of 6-aryl-5-cyano-4-oxo-2-thioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidines with formaldehyde and primary amines gave earlier unknown 3,4-dihydro-2H,6H-pyrimido[2,1-b]-[1,3,5]thiadiazine derivatives in 58–94% yields. In boiling AcOH, these pyrimidothiadiazines underwent the retro-Mannich reaction leading to the starting pyrimidine-2-thiones. The structure of 3-(4-ethoxyphenyl)-6-oxo-8-phenyl-3,4-dihydro-2H,6H-pyrimido[2,1-b][1,3,5]thiadiazine-7-carbonitrile was studied by X-ray diffraction analysis. The reactions of N-methylmorpholinium 6-amino-3,5-dicyano-1,4-dihydropyridine-2-thiolates with formaldehyde and primary aromatic amines produce 3,5,7,11-tetraazatricyclo[7.3.1.0^2,7]tridec-2-ene-1,9-dicarbonitrile derivatives. Remarks on the physical states and the chiral algebra of 2D gravity coupled toC≤1 matter

Some elaboration is givent to the structure of physical states in 2D gravity coupled to C1 matter, and to the chiral algebra (w of C_M=1 theory which has been found recently, in the continuum approach, by Witten and by Klebanov and Polyakov. It is then shown that the chiral algebra is realized as well in the minimal models of gravity (C_M<1), so that it stands as a general symmetry of 2D gravity theories.Dedicated to the memory of the late Professor M. (Alk-1-ynyl)organylthiocarbenes: generation and reactions with olefins

1-Substituted 1-chloro-3-organylthiopropa-1,2-dienes 1a–f belonging to previously unknown type of allenic compounds were synthesized by chlorination of 1-organylthioalk-1-ynes 3a–f with N-chlorosuccinimide. The reactions of compounds 1a–f with Bu^tOK in hexane at –20 °C are accompanied by -elimination of HCl to give new alk-1-ynyl(organylthio)carbenes 2a–f, which add to olefins to form the corresponding 1-(alk-1-ynyl)-1-organylthiocyclopropanes 5 in yields of up to 60%.
