Economically attractive technologies of deep conversion of associated petroleum gas

Six industrial and emerging catalytic technologies suitable for complete processing of all the components of associated petroleum gas, including methane and ethane, were reviewed. Process schemes for methanol, olefins, synthetic crude oil, gasoline, aromatics, and polymers were considered. A comparative analysis of the technologies in terms of demand for gas feedstock, potential markets for products, capital costs, and other economic indicators was carried out for the associated petroleum gas volumes typical for small and medium-sized oil fields.

Influence of Mechanical Stretching on Adsorption Properties of Nitrogen-Doped Graphene

This paper presents the results of quantum chemical modeling of chemisorption of atomic hydrogen and epoxy, carboxyl, and hydroxyl functional groups on nitrogen-doped graphene. It is shown that the substitutional nitrogen atom does not bind to adsorbing groups directly, but significantly increases the adsorption activity of neighboring carbon atoms. Mechanical stretching of doped graphene reduces the adsorption energy of all the aforementioned radicals. This reduction is significantly greater for the epoxy group than for the other functional groups. The results obtained confirm that, upon a sufficient stretching of a nitrogen-doped graphene sheet, the dissociation of molecular hydrogen and oxygen with subsequent precipitation of the resulting radicals onto graphene can be energetically favorable.

     

The decay φ→η″γ

A search for the process e ⁺ e ⁻→φ(1020)→η″(958) γ in the decay channel η″→π ⁺ π ⁻ η, η→γγ was made in an experiment at the VEPP-2M e ⁺ e ⁻ collider with the SND detector. Analysis confirms the occurrence of φ→η″γ decay with probability B(φ→η″ γ)=(6.7 _−2.9 ^+3.4 )×10⁻⁵. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. Fiz. 69, No. 2, 87–91 (25 January 1999)     

Measurement of the relative probability of φ →ηγ decay in the η → π +π−π0 channel

The relative decay probability B(φ → ηγ) = (1.259 ± 0.030 ± 0.059)% in the decay channel η → π⁺π^?π⁰ has been measured in an experiment using a spherical neutral detector in the VEPP-2M electron-positron storage ring. The result agrees with the tabulated value and with measurements of this probability using the spherical neutral detector in other η-meson decay channels.
