We have synthesized two mononuclear cobalt(II) complexes (1 and 2) of pyrazole-based bidentate (NN) and tridentate (NNN) tripodal ligands. X-ray crystal structure determination reveals that complex 1 has a tetrahedral geometry, while complex 2 has a trigonal–bipyramidal geometry. Both the complexes have been characterized by variable-temperature magnetic measurements between 2 and 300 K. A weak ferromagnetic exchange interaction (J = +1.5 cm?1) is observed for complex 2. Due to the presence of supramolecular CH···Cl and π···π interactions, a good magnetostructural correlation was found between the D parameter and angular distortion (δ) for complex 1 and related complexes reported in the literature.  相似文献

A highly selective and sensitive fluorescent Zn(2+) sensor, 2,6-bis(2-hydroxy-benzoic acid hydrazide)-4-methylphenol (1), was designed and synthesized. In aqueous THF (4 : 6 v/v) ligand 1 induces a 2 : 1 complex formation with respect to Zn(2+) at physiological pH. This probe features visible light excitation(390 nm) and emission (490 nm) profiles, excellent selectivity responses for Zn(2+)over other competing biological metal ions with K(d) < 1 pM(2), LOD < 1 ng L(-1) and about 680 fold enhancement in fluorescent intensity upon Zn(2+) binding. It also exhibits cell permeability and intracellular Zn(2+) sensing in A375 human melanoma cancer cell.  相似文献

Summary The problem of the generation of waves due to small rolling oscillations of a thin vertical plate partially immersed in uniform finite-depth water is investigated here by utilizing two mathematical methods assuming the linearised theory of water waves. In the first method, the use of eigenfunction expansion of the velocity potentials on the two sides of the plate produces the amplitude of wave motion at infinity in terms of an integral involving the unknown horizontal velocity across the gap, and also in terms of another integral involving the unknown difference of the potential across the plate. These unknown functions satisfy two integral equations. Any one of these, when solved numerically, can be used to compute the amplitude of the wave motion set up at either infinity on the two sides of the plate for various values of the wave number.In the second method, the problem is formulated in terms of a hypersingular integral equation involving the difference of the potential function across the plate. The hypersingular integral equation is solved numerically, and its numerical solution is used to compute the wave amplitude at infinity. The two methods produce almost the same numerical results. The results are illustrated graphically, and a comparison is made with the deep-water result. It is observed that the deep-water result effectively holds good if the plate is partially immersed to the order of one-tenth of the bottom depth.This work was initiated when the first Author was visiting Mathematics Department, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Curcumin, the primary active ingredient in the spice turmeric, was converted to reactive monofunctional derivatives (carboxylic acid/azide/alkyne). The derivatives were employed to produce a 3 + 2 azide-alkyne "clicked" curcumin dimer and a poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimer-curcumin conjugate. The monofunctional curcumin derivatives retain biological activity and are efficient for labeling and dissolving amyloid fibrils. The curcumin dimer selectively destroys human neurotumor cells. The synthetic methodology developed affords a general strategy for attaching curcumin to various macromolecular scaffolds.  相似文献

The dinuclear Cu(II) complexes [Cu2(L1)2(mb)]?ClO4 ( 1 ) and [Cu2(L2)2(mb)]?ClO4 ( 2 ) (HL1 = 2‐[(2‐diethylaminoethylimino)methyl]phenol; HL2 = 2‐[1‐(2‐diethylaminoethylimino)propyl]phenol; mb = 4‐methylbenzoate) were synthesized and characterized using X‐ray crystal structure analysis and spectroscopic methods. Complexes 1 and 2 are dinuclear with distorted square pyramidal Cu (II) geometries, where Schiff base coordinates with tridentate (N,N,O) chelating mode and mb bridges two metal centres. Optimized structures and photophysical properties of ligands and complexes were calculated using density functional theory and time‐dependent density functional theory methods using B3LYP functional with 6‐31G (d,p) and LanL2MB basis sets. Interactions of the complexes with bovine serum albumin (BSA) and human serum albumin (HSA) were studied using UV–visible absorption and fluorescence spectroscopies and the calculated values of association constants (M?1) are 1.7 × 105 ( 1 –BSA), 5.7 × 105 ( 2 –BSA), 1.6 × 105 ( 1 –HSA) and 6.9 × 105 ( 2 –HSA). Interactions of the complexes with calf thymus DNA were also investigated and the binding affinities are 1.4 × 105 and 1.6 × 105 M?1 for 1 and 2 , respectively. Both complexes catalytically oxidize 3,5‐di‐tert‐butylcatechol to 3,5‐di‐tert‐butylbenzoquinone in the presence of molecular oxygen.  相似文献

Ultrasound-assisted reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation from piezoelectric nanomaterial offers unique wireless therapeutic approach in remote places. In the previous work, piezoelectric barium titanate (BaTiO3) nanorod have been synthesized and used for wireless cell therapy. However, the piezoelectric property of BaTiO3 nanorod needs further improvement for diverse applications. In this work, it is shown that gold nanoparticle conjugation with BaTiO3 nanorod (BaTiO3-Au) can significantly enhance the piezoelectric performance with the piezoelectric constant value of 110 pm V−1. The colloidal BaTiO3-Au is further functionalized with folate for selective targeting of folate-overexpressed cancer cells and used for wireless cell therapy via intracellular ROS generation under ultrasound exposure. The synthesized colloidal nanohybrid can be used for various therapeutic applications.  相似文献

β-Sitosterol glucoside (BSSG) is a natural biologically active substance isolated from the Castanopsis indica leaves. This study explored the apoptogenic mechanistic studies of BSSG against Ehrlich's ascites carcinoma (EAC) treated mice through morphological study, comet assay, flow cytometry (FACS) and Western blotting assay method. AO/EB staining and FACS analysis showed that BSSG possessed apoptosis induction activities on EAC cells. Dose dependent induction of DNA damage was observed after BSSG treatment. Increase the expression of apoptotic protein p53 and p21 in EAC, multiple downstream factors contributing to apoptosis pathway. The increase of caspase-9 and caspase-3 activities revealed that caspase was a key mediator of the apoptotic pathway induced by BSSG, and up-regulation of Bax and down-regulation of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 resulted in the decrease of Bcl-2/Bax ratio. Owing to the combination of significant antitumour activity by inducing apoptosis, BSSG holds the promise of being an interesting chemo-preventive agent active in cancer therapy.  相似文献
