Sensitization on skin exposed to acute low-dose UVB irradiation separates normal humans into two phenotypically distinct groups: One group, following sensitization on UVB-irradiated skin, develops contact sensitivity, designated UVB resistant (UVB-R) and the second group, following sensitization on UVB-irradiated skin, fails to develop contact sensitivity, designated UVB susceptible (UVB-S). To investigate whether UVB susceptibility in humans is related to antigen-presenting activity in the skin we studied the effect of UVB irradiation on the number and function of the epidermal antigen-presenting cells in volunteers identified as UVB-R and UVB-S. Single cell suspensions of epidermal cells from control skin and skin exposed to 3 minimal erythema doses (MED) of UVB 3 days previously were stained for Langerhans cells (CD1a+HLA-DR+) and epidermal macrophages (CD1a-HLA-DR+). The UVB exposure of the skin significantly decreased the percentage of Langerhans cells (UVB-R: n = 7, P < 0.02, UVB-S: n = 6, P < 0.03) and increased the percentage of epidermal macrophages (UVB-R: n = 7, P < 0.03, UVB-S: n = 6, P < 0.03) however to the same degree in both the UVBR and the UVB-S group. To study the effect on Langerhans cell alloreactivity, epidermal cells were harvested immediately after UVB irradiation. However, in both UVB-R and UVB-S subjects the Langerhans cell alloreactivity was blocked to the same degree immediately after UVB irradiation compared to nonirradiated epidermal cells. To determine the effect of UVB irradiation on epidermal macrophages, epidermal cells were harvested 3 days after UVB irradiation. Irradiated epidermal cells from both UVB-R and UVB-S subjects demonstrated a strong antigen-presenting capacity compared to epidermal cells from control skin leading to activation of T cells that mainly secrete interferon (1FN)-γ and not interleukin (IL)-4. In conclusion we found that UVB susceptibility was not correlated with the number of Langerhans cells or epidermal macrophages in the skin at the same time of sensitization. Neither was it correlated with the capacity of Langerhans cells nor UVB-induced epidermal macrophages to activate T cells in vitro.  相似文献

Preparation and Crystal Structure of Cs2Sb4S7 The first thioantimonite of Cesium has been synthesized and its crystal structure determined. The substance crystallizes monoclinic with spacegroup P21/c. The lattice constants are a = 1111.2(5) pm, b = 1227.1(5) pm, c = 1163.7(5) pm and ß = 97.60(5)°. There are four formula units in the unit cell. Sb–S chains are formed by trigonal SbS3 pyramids and ψ-trigonal SbS4 bipyramids.  相似文献

CrOx/La2O3 mixed oxides, prepared by impregnating La2O3 with appropriate aqueous solutions of (NH4)2CrO4 and calcining at 600 °C for 4 h, have been investigated by means of XRD, TPR, XPS, DRIFTS, and Raman spectroscopy (RS). The formation of the compounds La2CrO6, La(OH)CrO4 and LaCrO4 under these conditions was evidenced. Strong peaks at 864, 884, 913, and 921 cm−1, as well as weak peaks at 136, 180, 354, 370, and 388 cm−1 in the RS spectrum of CrOx/La2O3 have been assigned to La2CrO6.  相似文献

During the soldification in the Bridgman furnace at slow rate crystals grow with very different molar concentration x because of considerable differences between liquidus and solidus temperatures. More homogeneous ingots grow by increasing rate of crystallisation. The reason of the better quality of the ingots and the results of the experiments are discribed and discussed.  相似文献

Chromia–lanthana–zirconia catalysts prepared by wet impregnation and microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition methods have been characterized by temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The impregnation procedure requires large amounts of solvent and calcination at high temperatures producing Cr6+ species. Unlike this, it is found that the microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition (PECVD) method predominantly produces Cr3+ species on zirconia-based supports. Moreover, it has been shown that the dispersion of chromium species deposited on zirconia-based support by the PECVD method is higher than the dispersion of those prepared by wet impregnation. Thus, the advantages of PECVD over the impregnation method consist in this case in preventing the use of large amounts of solvent and avoiding the primary formation of poisonous Cr6+ species as well as in enabling the deposition of chromium species with high dispersion on zirconia-based supports.  相似文献

In order to evaluate the possible involvement of crucible materials in the growth of AlN bulk crystals grown by physical vapor transport, we applied growth conditions with a high vertical thermal gradient and hence high supersaturation of aluminum vapor. Under these conditions, precipitates formed causing diffuse grayish substructures at the initial growth interface and in the crystal body, decorating dislocations. Electron microscopy studies revealed that the precipitates are elongated, single‐phase particles with sizes of 50–500 nm of commensurate structure, oriented along the <110> direction. Chemical analysis of the precipitates showed tungsten as well as carbon and oxygen. The lattice parameters of the precipitates are in close agreement to hexagonal tungsten hemicarbide (W2C). The possible transport from the tungsten parts and its conversion into tungsten hemicarbide precipitates is discussed. We thus conclude that the W2C precipitates may contribute to the decoration of dislocations, even in growth with moderate thermal gradients.  相似文献
