The literature pertaining to facilitated transport and liquid membrane separations is reviewed and summarized, especially work reported since 1977. Liquid membranes of all geometries are discussed, including immobilized liquid membranes and liquid surfactant or emulsion liquid membranes. Emphasis is placed on facilitated, or carrier-mediated transport in both configurations although other mechanisms such as coupled-transport and transport due to solubility differences are discussed. Mathematical modeling and analytical solutions for facilitated transport models are summarized. The possibility of industrial application of liquid membrane technology is mentioned and the most important experimental techniques for liquid membrane research are discussed. Also, directions for future research are recommended.  相似文献

The recent Joint European Torus deuterium-tritium campaign has yielded ion-cyclotron-resonance-heated (ICRH) pulses during which both the sawtooth characteristics and the ICRH minority ion population both evolve substantially. At multiple times during each pulse, the evolution of the kinetic-fluid MHD energy is calculated from measurement of the energetic ions and compared with the evolving sawtooth duration. There is strong correlation between sawtooth duration and minority ion stabilization of the ideal internal kink.  相似文献

It is shown that a certain set of equations describing the evolution of a three-wave system can be derived from a hamiltonian. We show that this set has three integrals of motion which are in involution, so that the system is integrable. We then show how the equations can be integrated.  相似文献

A higher‐order unsplit multi‐dimensional discretization of the diffuse interface model for two‐material compressible flows proposed by R. Saurel, F. Petitpas and R. A. Berry in 2009 is developed. The proposed higher‐order method is based on the concepts of the Multidimensional Optimal Order Detection (MOOD) method introduced in three recent papers for single‐material flows. The first‐order unsplit multi‐dimensional Finite Volume discretization presented by SPB serves as foundation for the development of the higher‐order unlimited schemes. Specific detection criteria along with a novel decrementing algorithm for the MOOD method are designed in order to deal with the complexity of multi‐material flows. Numerically, we compare errors and computational times on several 1D problems (stringent shock tube and cavitation problems) computed on 2D meshes with the second‐ and fourth‐order MOOD methods using a classical MUSCL method as reference. Several simulations of a 2D shocked R22 bubble in the air are also presented on Cartesian and unstructured meshes with the second‐ and fourth‐order MOOD methods, and qualitative comparisons confirm the conclusions obtained with 1D problems. These numerical results demonstrate the robustness of the MOOD approach and the interest of using more than second‐order methods even for locally singular solutions of complex physics models. In many generic combustion models, one finds that a combustionwave will develop with a specific wave speed. However, thereare possible initial temperature profiles which do not evolveinto such waves, but rather die out to the ambient temperature.There can exist, in some models, a clear distinction betweenthose initial conditions that do evolve into combustion wavesand those that do not; this is sometimes referred to as thewatershed initial condition. When fuel consumption is consideredto be negligible, analytical methods can be used to obtain theexact watershed. In this paper, we consider the problem of determiningpseudo-watersheds and ascertaining the relationship betweenthese pseudo-watersheds and the exact watersheds. 利用激光蒸发团簇源产生Wn团簇束,团簇束通过一个充有N2气体分 子的低压反应池,利用飞行时间质谱探测反应产物,在类单次碰撞条件下研究了W+10 -W+50和N2分子的反应性,在室温条件下测量了N2分子与W+n团簇反应的 反应几率。团簇尺寸在10~26原子的团簇与N2分子的反应几率与团簇尺寸有很强的相关性 ,对n=16,22,23的团簇具有比较高的反应性。W+n与N2分子的反应性与Wn与N 2分子的反应性显示出相似的规律性。  相似文献

Techniques from complexity and criticality theory have fruitful applications to a wide range of natural and laboratory plasma systems. Here we review examples that have direct observational relevance, spanning fusion, the Earth's magnetosphere, the sun and astrophysical accretion disks. Particle-particle pulloff adherence forces were measured as a function of temperature in the ice/n-decane/ice and tetrahydrofuran (THF) hydrate/n-decane/THF hydrate systems using a newly developed micromechanical testing technique. Experiments using approximately 200 microm radius particles were performed at atmospheric pressure over the temperature range 263-275 K. The ice and hydrate particles displayed very similar behavior. While the measured adherence forces had significant variation, the shapes of the cumulative force distribution curves were similar among the different sets of experiments. The measured adherence forces distributions shifted to lower force values as the temperature was decreased from the solid melting temperature. The observed forces and trends were explained by the capillary cohesion of rough surfaces, with the capillary bridging liquid being stabilized below its freezing point by the negative curvature of the bridging liquid/n-decane interface.  相似文献
