We study nonlinear dynamics of optical pulse propagation in the spectral region inside the polariton gap. It is shown that the Kerr nonlinearity can lead to formation of solitary waves in this region of frequencies.  相似文献

Luminescence spectra and luminescence decay kinetics of uranyl sulphate water and uranyl nitrate acetone solutions of different concentrations have been studied. Similar experiments have been done with uranyl sulphate powder under vacuum. It has been experimentally shown that the hydrolysis of uranyl sulphate in water takes place, and under low salt concentrations (0.1-4.0 times 10-4 M) a luminescence of a basic form of the photoexcited ion with a tentative structure of UO2OH+* has been observed. The luminescence of the acidic form UO+* has been observed under higher salt concentrations (1–4 times 10-2 M) in water and under any salt concentration in acetone. The acidic form has the characteristic emission spectrum possessing vibrational structure. The luminescence concentrational quenching of both photoexcited uranyl forms and exciplex emission have not been observed. The effect of a number of organic quenchers and molecular oxygen on uranyl luminescence has been studied. There is no luminescence quenching by O2 up to 2 times 106 Pa (20 atm) pressure. The low effectiveness of energy transfer from the photoexcited uranyl forms has been explained in terms of strong steric screening of 5f-uranium (VI) orbital by oxygen atoms and by external filled up uranium electronic shells.  相似文献

The solvent effect on the quenching of singlet oxygen by -phenyl-N-tert-butyl-nitrone /PBN/ has been investigated by laser flash photolysis technique registrating luminescence kinetics of1O2. The values of the rate constant /kq/ of the quenching were at 293 K: /9.0±0.4/×106, /4.4±0.3/×106 and /18.3±0.5/×106 M–1 s–1 in toluene, chloroform and acetonitrile, respectively. The rate constant for the chemical interaction between1O2 and PBN, was kr<1×105 M–1 s–1kq independently of the solvent. At temperatures between 223 and 293 K in toluene Eq=0.4±0.4 kJ mol–1.  相似文献

We develop a perturbation theory for the evolution of solitary waves in quadratic nonconservative nonlinear media. The expressions derived for the solitons' amplitude and width permit us to estimate straightforwardly the damping-amplification rate of an arbitrary soliton of the unperturbed system. The analytical results obtained agree well with numerical experiments.  相似文献

An exact analytical expression for the Stokes power generated by stimulated Brillouin scattering in a lossy medium is derived for the first time. The approach is based on a distributed, fluctuating source model in the undepleted pump regime, previously only rigorously applied to lossless media. The problem of soliton propagation in a system of tunnel-coupled fibers in the case when a coupling parameter depends on a coordinate along a fiber is considered. It is shown, that at periodic modulation of coupling both the parametric resonance of solitons and their dynamic stochastization are possibly depending on the initial conditions, while in the case of a random coupling parameter the stochastic parametric resonance of solitons arises.  相似文献

The spectral-kinetic characteristics of short-lived triplet exciplexes arising in the quenching of 2,6-diphenyl-1,4-benzoquinone triplet with aromatic amines: N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine, triphenylamine and diphenylamine have been studied by means of the nanosecond laser photolysis technique. The absorption spectra of triplet exciplexes exhibit distinct maxima characteristic of the absorption spectra of corresponding amine radical cations. The state with complete charge transfer gives the basic contribution to the exciplex structures. A detailed analysis is presented of the kinetic and thermodynamic deactivation characteristics of triplet exciplexes in low-polar solvents.  相似文献
