Lattice instability of Ni2MnGa

Anomalies have been detected in the temperature behavior of the physical properties of Ni₂MnGa in the temperature interval preceding the martensitic transformation, which is attributed to TA ₂ phonon mode condensation at T=T _I>T _m (T _m is the martensitic transition temperature). Reactions of diterpenoids on solid supports II. Behavior of di- and tricyclic diterpenoids on alumina containing oxidants

The behavior of epimanool (1), epimanool oil, larixol (2), cis-abienol (3) and methyl dehydroabietate (4) on alumina impregnated with oxidants (H₂CrO₄ and KMnO₄) has been studied. This has led to the methyl ketone (5) and norambrenolide (8) - precursors of the perfume substances 14,15,17-trinorlabdane-8,13-dione (6), 8-hydroxy-14,15-bisnorlabd-II-en-13-one (7), and methyl 7-oxodehydroabietate (14). -Levantenolide (11) has been synthesized in one stage from cis-abienol (3)for the first time.Novosibirsk Insitute of Organic Chemistry, Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Glycolipids from Leaves of <Emphasis Type="Italic">Eminium Lehmanii</Emphasis>

The quantitative composition of glycolipids from leaves of Eminium Lehmanii (Araceae) was established. It was shown that the predominant glycolipids were monogalactosyldiglycerides and digalactosyldiglycerides. The fatty-acid compositions of six glycolipids, of which digalactosyldiglycerides and sterylglycoside esters contained greater than 70% linoleic acid, were determined by GC. Extractive substances of the bark of Picea ajanensis

A study of the chemical composition of a petroleum ether extract of the bark of Yeddo spruce growing in Khabarovsk Territory has shown that the neutral fraction of the extract contained waxes, glycerides, diterpenoids — epimanool, cis- and trans-abienols, and phyllocladenol, and triterpenoids — the epimeric 3α-and 3β-methoxy-21-hydroxy-Δ¹⁴-serratenes and a ketone which has been ascribed the structure of 21-keto-3β-methoxy-Δ¹⁴-serratene.     

Lipids of the products of processing of cotton seeds

The free, bound, and strongly bound lipids of the crushed seeds, pulp, husks, and meal have been characterized. It has been shown that the bound and strongly-bound lipids differ from the free lipids by a higher level of saturated acids. Lipids from Five Cotton Varieties

Seed characteristics and the lipid and fatty-acid compositions were determined for the new cotton varieties ASh-25, Omad, 9771-I, Termez-43, and Bukhara-6.     

Protein-lipid complexes of cotton kernels and the products of their processing

The composition and lipid content of the lipoprotein complexes of cotton kernels (I), meal (II), and isolate (III) have been investigated. It has been shown that with the aid of an acidic alcohol-containing extractant it is possible to isolate up to 99% of the strongly bound lipids (SBLs) of their total mass. In the composition of the strongly bound lipids (I–III) have been found neutral lipids comparable with the free lipids of the kernel; of polar lipids, glycolipids were present. Fruits of two seabuckthorn varieties

Fruits of two varieties of Hippophae rhamnoides L. collected in Kyrgyzstan (I) and Uzbekistan (II) were investigated. Differences in their morphological and biochemical properties were demonstrated. Titrable acids, ascorbic acid, and protein dominated in the fruits of I. Pulp oil of II contained more free fatty acids (acid number 2.9 mg KOH) and carotinoids (419.3 mg%). The principal pulp acid was 16:1. Among the rarely encountered acids of pulp oil, an insignificant quantity of 16:2 was detected (1.2–4.6%).
