A basis is given for the idea that a Gaussian coordinate system is the most rational outside a singular sphere in a Schwarzschild field. Cosmic rays as a new instrument of seismological studies

The state of the art of the short-termearthquake prediction problemis considered. A new method for monitoring the 3D stress state in the earthquake-prone zone using high-energy muons in cosmic rays and simultaneous measurements of acoustic and seismic signals in the frequency range from 1 Hz to 1–2 kHz is proposed. To implement this method, muons should be detected simultaneously with extensive air showers in an area of several square kilometers.     

On the Dynamics of Two Oscillating Cosmic Strings

We present the spacetime interval of thenonradiated cosmic string oscillating as standing waves.The influence of string oscillations on the dynamics ofa probe cosmic thread that performs free oscillations and moves in its vicinity, isdiscussed.     

Classical dynamics of a system ofn color charges

The classical problem of the motion of a system ofN color (chromoelectric) charges in a self-consistent Yang—Mills field is studied. The potentials of the field and the corresponding equations of motion are found by successive approximation. The development of perturbations in the universe described by the nonstationary equation of state

The growth of the perturbation density in a baryon substance due to a nonstationary character of the equation of state of nonbaryon matter in the Universe is studied. Radiation of a Cascade near a Plane Interface and in a Planar Layer

In order to detect cosmic rays and ultrahigh-energy neutrinos, a number of experiments based on the detection of radio radiation of cascades initiated by these particles in dense media such as ground ice massifs or lunar regolith have been developed. In most of the experiments, radio radiation is detected at the emission to the atmosphere or cosmic space rather than in a dense medium. Consequently, it is necessary to calculate the radiation of a cascade taking into account an interface between two media. This problem is usually solved numerically by the Monte Carlo method. A simple analytical expression for a radiation field in the wave zone of the less dense medium has been obtained for the case of development of the cascade in the dense medium and the crossing of the interface between two media by radiation. The effect of the third, additional medium on the radiation field of the cascade has also been considered.     

On one property of hypercyclic groups

We prove that the condition of periodicity of all normal Abelian subgroups of a group with increasing normal series with cyclic factors such that infinite factors are central is preserved on passing to subgroups of finite index. Internal field relaxation and its effect on the energy spectrum and transport characteristics of a quantum well

We consider internal field relaxation and its effect on the transport characteristics (transmission probability) and the energy spectrum of a quantum well in the context of a modified transfer matrix method. It is shown that the internal field relaxation process leads to the expulsion of the bound state from a quantum well, and to a change in the transport characteristics of such a structure.
