Improvement of Injection-Locked VCSELs for Analog and Digital Communication Systems

VCSEL Injection locking is demonstrated to increase laser bandwidth and reduce non-linearity and chirp.All these properties enhance analog and digital modulation performance.     

Slow light in semiconductor quantum wells

We demonstrate slow light via population oscillation in semiconductor quantum-well structures for the first time. A group velocity as low as 9600 m/s is inferred from the experimentally measured dispersive characteristics. The transparency window exhibits a bandwidth as large as 2 GHz.     

The first three anisotropy constants of nickel

The technique of ferromagnetic resonance at 23 GHz has been used to determine the first three anisotropy constants of pure Ni down to 4.2K. A temperature and orientation dependent linewidth has also been observed.     

Long distance transmission of SC-FDMA signals by directly-modulated OIL-VCSEL

We demonstrate the long distance transmission of single-carrier frequency division multiple address signals by directly-modulated optically injection-locked vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser. Transmission distance as long as 50 km is achieved at 5 Gb/s (2.5 Gb/s for each user) through data pattern inversion and higher frequency response gain under optical injection locking.
