Metal/superconductor/semiconductor (Ag/Hg-1212/CdSe) hetero-nanostructures have been fabricated using pulse-electrodeposition
technique and are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) and scanning electron microscopy
(SEM) studies. The junction capacitance of Ag/Hg-1212, Hg-1212/CdSe and Ag/Hg-1212/CdSe heterojunctions is measured in dark
and under laser irradiation at room temperature. The nature of the junction formed and built-in-junction potentials were determined.
The increase in carrier concentration across the junction due to photo-irradiation has been observed. 相似文献

One of the innovative technological directions for the high-temperature superconductors has been persued by fabricating the
heteroepitaxial multilayer structures such as superconductor-semiconductor heterostructures. In the present investigation,
metal/superconductor/semiconductor (Ag/Tl-2223/CdSe) hetero-nanostructures have successfully been fabricated using dc electrodeposition
technique and were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) and scanning electron microscopy
(SEM) studies. The measurement of junction capacitance as a function of biasing voltage was used for the estimation of junction
built-in-potential (V
D) and to study the charge distribution in a heterojunction. The Mott-Schottky plots were measured for each junction in dark
and under the photo-irradiation. The effect of laser irradiation on C-V characteristics of hetero-nanostructure has been studied. 相似文献

Liquid hot water pretreatment has been proposed as a possible means of improving rates of enzymatic hydrolysis of biomass while maintaining low levels of inhibitory compounds. Supplementation of liquid hot water pretreatment with dissolved carbon dioxide, yielding carbonic acid, has been shown to improve hydrolysis of some biomass substrates compared with the use of water alone. Previous studies on the application of carbonic acid to biomass pretreatment have noted a higher pH of hydrolyzates treated with carbonic acid as compared with the samples prepared with water alone. This study has applied recently developed analytical methods to quantify the concentration of organic acids in liquid hot water pretreated hydrolyzates, prepared with and without the addition of carbonic acid. It was observed that the addition of carbon dioxide to liquid hot water pretreatment significantly changed the accumulated concentrations of most measured compounds. However, the measured differences in product concentrations resulting from addition of carbonic acid did not account for the measured differences in hydrolyzate pH. 相似文献

Two screening methods have been developed for simultaneous determination of ten extensively used personal care products (PCPs) and two alkylphenol surfactants in fish. The methods consisted of extraction, clean-up, derivatization and analysis by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry with selected ion monitoring (GC–SIM–MS) or gas chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (GC–MS/MS) techniques. Among solvents tested to assess recovery of target compounds from 1-g tissue homogenates, acetone was selected as optimal for extracting compounds with dissimilar physicochemical properties from fish tissue. Initial experiments confirmed that GC–SIM–MS could be applied for analysis of lean fillet tissue (<1% lipid) without gel-permeation chromatography (GPC), and this approach was applied to assess the presence of target analytes in fish fillets collected from a regional effluent-dominated stream in Texas, USA. Benzophenone, galaxolide, tonalide, and triclosan were detected in 11 of 11 environmental samples at concentrations ranging from; 37 to 90, 234 to 970, 26 to 97, and 17 to 31 ng/g, respectively. However, performance of this analytical approach declined appreciably with increasing lipid content of analyzed tissues. Successful analysis of samples with increased lipid content was enabled by adding GPC to the sample preparation protocol and monitoring analytes with tandem mass spectrometry. Both analytical approaches were validated using fortified fillet tissue collected from locations expected to be minimally impacted by anthropogenic influences. Average analyte recoveries ranged from 87% to 114% with RSDs <11% and from 54% to 107% with RSDs <20% for fish tissue containing <1% and 4.9% lipid, respectively. Statistically derived method detection limits (MDLs) for GC–SIM–MS and GC–MS/MS methodologies ranged from 2.4 to 16 ng/g, and 5.1 to 397 ng/g, respectively. 相似文献

In Ref. 2, four algorithms of dual matrices for function minimization were introduced. These algorithms are characterized by the simultaneous use of two matrices and by the property that the one-dimensional search for the optimal stepsize is not needed for convergence. For a quadratic function, these algorithms lead to the solution in at mostn+1 iterations, wheren is the number of variables in the function. Since the one-dimensional search is not needed, the total number of gradient evaluations for convergence is at mostn+2. In this paper, the above-mentioned algorithms are tested numerically by using five nonquadratic functions. In order to investigate the effects of the stepsize on the performances of these algorithms, four schemes for the stepsize factor are employed, two corresponding to small-step processes and two corresponding to large-step processes. The numerical results show that, in spite of the wide range employed in the choice of the stepsize factor, all algorithms exhibit satisfactory convergence properties and compare favorably with the corresponding quadratically convergent algorithms using one-dimensional searches for optimal stepsizes. 相似文献

A variety of degradation products are produced upon dilute acid pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass. Within this larger construct, organic acids, phenols and aromatic aldehydes represent important compound classes to investigate due to increasing evidence of their inhibitory effect on fermentative microorganisms. An analytical extraction procedure is presented, enabling isolation of potential analytes away from alternative products in biomass hydrolysates. Additionally, a reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method has been developed and validated, affording simultaneous separation and quantitative determination of 32 potential analytes in water with UV detection at 210 nm. The method was subsequently employed to quantify a variety of aliphatic acid, aromatic acid, aldehyde and phenolic degradation products in a corn-stover hydrolysate at concentration levels ranging from 0.02 to 41 mM. 相似文献
