The spin rotation parameterR in pp and + p elastic scattering at 45 GeV/c has been measured at the Serpukhov accelerator, for ¦t¦ ranging from 0·2 to 0·5 (GeV/c)2. The results are presented, together with previousR measurements at lower energies, and are compared with the predictions of Regge pole models. The equality of the values forR in proton-proton and pion-proton scattering, within the experimental errors, is a test of factorization of the residues.Ans-channel helicity amplitude analysis for pion-nucleon scattering at 40 GeV/c is made using all available data, Significant results are obtained for the isoscalar exchange amplitudes. The helicity flip in isoscalar exchange is non negligible. The energy dependence of this amplitude, at 6, 16 and 40 GeV/c, is compared with predictions of Reggs pole models.Presented by L.van Rossum at the Symposium on Hadron-Hadron Scattering at High Energies, Liblice, Czechoslovakia, June 16–21, 1975.  相似文献

The main structure around m = 2.15 GeV first observed by the Argonne group in the spin-dependent total cross section ΔσL is confirmed in the energy range available at SIN. A simultaneous study of the scattered particles at small angles has been carried out with success and gave the spin-correlation parameter A00kk for the pp elastic scattering and for the reaction pp → π+d. The contribution of the 3-body reactions to this spin-dependent total cross section has been deduced and found to be lower than the contribution of the π+d reaction even at 583 MeV.  相似文献

Results are presented on and production in p–W and S–W interactions at 200 GeV/c/nucleon measured via the dimuon decay in a large kinematic region. The data are normalized to the charged particle multiplicity in the same rapidity interval. They have been collected using the HELIOS/3 muon spectrometer at the CERN SPS. The ratio , where is the relevant resonance branching fraction, increases between proton and sulphur projectiles, and is somewhat enhanced going from peripheral to central S–W interactions. This results from an increase in the number of produced 's per charged particle. The ratio is measured in different intervals of p and rapidity. It is not clearly dependent on p, but is larger at higher rapidities. production, likewise normalized to charged multiplicity, is significantly lower in S–W compared to p–W interactions. Neutron-proton total cross section differences with the beam and target polarizations orientated either transversally or longitudinally with respect to the beam direction, as well as 11 spin dependent elastic scattering observables measured at SATURNE II as a function of energy and angle are presented. A major part of results was measured using the quasimonoenergetic polarized neutron beam and/or the polarized proton target. A small part of data was obtained using a polarized deuteron beam considered as a beam of quasifree neutrons and protons. The present paper represents a review of measured observables. Several sets of present data are compared with results obtained in other laboratories below 0.8 GeV. Imaginary parts of spin dependent forward amplitudes for np scattering and for the isospin stateI=0 were determined. First direct reconstruction of the np scattering matrix at 0.84 GeV is shown.We acknowledge support for this work from J. Arvieux, R. Beurtey, P. Borgeaud, P. A. Chamouard, A. Fleury, E. Heer, J. M. The accelerated polarized deuteron beam of Saturn II was used to measure the analyzing power for np elastic scattering at five energies. The left-right asymmetries ε = (L + R)/(L + R) for np and for pp elastic scattering were measured simultaneously by CH2? carbon subtraction using one of the beam-line polarimeters. The analyzing power A00n0(np) is given by the ratio εnpd/εppd multiplied by the known analyzing power for pp elastic scattering. Experimental evidence is consistent with the underlying assumption that in the kinetmatic region of the experiment the ratio of the np to pp analyzing powers for scattering of quasifree nucleons in deuterons is the same as for scattering of free neutrons and protons, respectively.  相似文献

We present data of several rescattering observables measured inn p elastic scattering between 0.80 and 1.10 GeV. The SATURNE II polarized beam of free neutrons obtained from the break-up of polarized deuterons was scattered on the Saclay polarized frozen-spin proton target. Three different configurations of beam and target polarization directions were used: the observablesD onon andK onno were measured with the normal-normal spin configuration at eight energies;N onkk ,D os″ok andK os″ko were determined with the longitudinal-longitudinal configuration at six energies;N onsk ,D os″ok andK os″so with the sideway-longitudinal configuration at six energies. Part of the data was obtained with an unpolarized CH2 target where only the two spin-index polarization transfer parametersK os″ko andK os″so were determined. Data are compared with phase shift analyses predictions and with the LAMPF results at 0.788 GeV. Present results are the first measurements of rescattering observables above 0.80 GeV. They provide an important contribution to any future theoretical or phenomenological analysis.

The direct reconstruction of the isospin I = 0 amplitudes is discussed under the assumption that the I = 1 amplitudes are known and that a sufficient number of independent np observables have been measured at a centre-of-mass angle . We show that at least one observable measured at angle is necessary in order to determine the I = 0 amplitudes, including the phase relative to the I = 1 amplitudes. The spin correlation parameter Aoonn and the analyzing powers Aoono and Aooon were measured simultaneously, in the energy range 0.5–0.8 GeV and in the angular region 40°–80° CM. The experiment used the polarized proton beam of SATURNE II and the Saclay frozen spin polarized target.  相似文献
