The weakly pinned single crystals of the hexagonal 2H-NbSe2 compound have emerged as prototypes for determining and characterizing the phase boundaries of the possible order-disorder transformations in the vortex matter. We present here a status report based on the ac and dc magnetization measurements of the peak effect phenomenon in three crystals of 2H-NbSe2, in which the critical current densities vary over two orders of magnitude. We sketch the generic vortex phase diagram of a weakly pinned superconductor, which also utilizes theoretical proposals. We also establish the connection between the metastability effects and pinning.  相似文献

The hydrophilic oxygen atoms of polyethylenoxide chains inserted as pillars in gamma-zirconium phosphate form hydrogen bonds with the acid groups of the host. As a result the pillars are almost perpendicular to the gamma layers. Upon changing the pH level of the supernatant solution the hydrogen bonds are broken and the pillars become almost perpendicular to the layers (shown schematically). Thus there is a reversible enlargement-shortening of the interlayer space.  相似文献

The gene-protein database of Escherichia coli is both an index relating a gene to its protein product on two-dimensional gels, and a catalog of information about the function, regulation, and genetics of individual proteins obtained from two-dimensional gel analysis or collated from the literature. Edition 5 has 102 new entries--a 15% increase in the number of annotated two-dimensional gel spots. The large increase in this edition was accomplished in part by the use of a new method for expression analysis of ordered segments of the E. coli genome, which has resulted in linking 50 gel spots to their genes (or open reading frames) and another 45 to specific regions of the chromosome awaiting the availability of DNA sequence information. Communication of information from the scientific community resulted in additional identifications and regulatory information. To increase accessibility of the database it has been placed in the repository at the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) at the National Library of Medicine under the name ECO2DBASE. It will be updated twice yearly. This edition of the gene-protein database is estimated to contain entries for one-sixth of the protein-encoding genes of E. coli.  相似文献

Averaged relations for a layered medium with dynamic dissipation at the interlayer boundary are constructed for dynamic problems of longitudinal shear and twodimensional theory of elasticity. For low dissipation, the averaged boundaryvalue problem is shown to be singularly perturbed. The degeneration of the boundaryvalue problem is studied qualitatively.  相似文献

A solution of the Dirichlet problem for an elliptic systemof equations with constant coefficients and simple complex characteristics in the plane is expressed as a double-layer potential. The boundary-value problem is solved in a bounded simply connected domain with Lyapunov boundary under the assumption that the Lopatinskii condition holds. It is shown how this representation is modified in the case of multiple roots of the characteristic equation. The boundary-value problem is reduced to a system of Fredholm equations of the second kind. For a Hölder boundary, the differential properties of the solution are studied.  相似文献
